Junior Isaac Ball scored his fourth game-winning goal in Freehold's fourth win of the season, this time a golden goal in overtime to lift the Colonials (4-3) the Green Dragons (3-5-1).

No. 1 Holmdel 2, Matawan 1

Senior Mark McStay scored the game-winning goal off a throw by Peter Vassilakos and the Hornets (7-0) pulled out their seventh straight win to open the season by fighting off the Huskies (2-4) in a rematch of last year's NJSIAA Central Jersey Group II semifinal shootout.

Junior Jack Giamanco opened the scoring for Holmdel with his eight goal of the season. Junior Tommy Zalepka drew Matawan even off a pass from Enir Radoncic.

On the way to winning the Group II championship last season, Holmdel defeated Matawan on penalties after a 1-1 draw to advance to the sectional final.

Lakewood 6, Point Beach 1

Junior Bravo scored midway through the first half to open the scoring and Morris Vasquez scored two of Lakewood's five second-half goals to lead the Piners (6-0-1) past the Garnet Gulls (3-2-1) and extend their unbeaten start to the season.

Bravo also assisted Lakewood's second goal, which Giovanni Hernandez scored in the 48th minute. Jonathan Toichihuitl scored off a Josh Lemus assist to make it 3-0 and Vasquez scored twice in six minutes to make it 5-0.

After Ryan Brodeur got Point Beach on the board in the 78th, Jorge Diaz capped the scoring shortly thereafter.

No. 4 Ocean 1, No. 6 Long Branch 0

Senior Leo Montesinos scored off a free kick by Zach Sintic in the 11th minute and the Spartans (7-1) made it stand up by holding off the Green Wave (4-3-1) for their fourth straight win.

Red Bank 5, Mater Dei Prep 0

Junior Jon Paul Valencia recorded a hat trick and the Bucs (3-4) blanked the Seraphs (0-6). Aden Castell scored a goal off a pass from Tor Haugenes and Haugenes then Castell later returned the favor by setting up Haugenes.

No. 3 Jackson Memorial 2, Colts Neck 1 (OT)

Senior Dan Russo scored his second goal of the game in the eighth minute of overtime and the unbeaten Jaguars (7-0) outlasted the Cougars (2-3) in an overtime thriller.

Russo scored the first goal of the game in the 65th minute off a pass from junior Ronny Bantang before senior Paul Tepedino pulled Colts Neck even with an equalizer in the 70th off a set-up by classmate Ethan Kilmnick.

The golden goal was a left-footed finish by the left-footed Russo off a pass from junior Ed Jacoby.

No. 9 Freehold Twp. 2, Rumson-Fair Haven 1 (OT)

Junior Bennett Messinger scored a golden goal in his team's second straight game and the Patriots (4-1-1) fought off a challenge from the still-winless Bulldogs (0-6). Messinger also scored the overtime winner in a 2-1 win over Freehold Boro on Friday.

Messinger's winner on Monday came off a pass from Alonzo Konstantinidis in the second minute of extra time. Senior Cristian Corcione gave Freehold Township a 1-0 lead off a pass from classmate Chris Orrico in the 13th minute before Rumson equalized in the 32nd on a goal by Cade McManus with an assist by Luke Pentikis.

Raritan 6, Keyport 1

Senior Nick Bavaro scored two goals and assisted two more to lead the Rockets (2-4) to a one-sided win over the Red Raiders (0-5). Jake Fortune, Marco Vasta, Joe Seber and Santiago Martinez each added a goal in the win.

Marlboro 3, Red Bank Catholic 1

Max Spivak scored two goals that proved to be the difference in a Mustangs (3-3-1) win over the Caseys (3-3). Spivak converted a penalty kick to extend Marlboro's lead to 2-0 and added his second on an outside-foot strike off a pass back from Oscar Ozbay. Carson Friedman opened the scoring for Marlboro.

Alex Nichols scored the RBC goal on an assist from Diego Volpe.

No. 5 Neptune 6, Ranney 1

Senior Wilby Alfred turned in a hat trick to take over the Shore Conference lead with 13 and the Scarlet Fliers (5-1-1) routed the Panthers (3-3).

Steven Camancho and Batur Yaman each added a goal and an assist while Mickenna Church assisted on three of the six Neptune goals. Marlon Morales also added a goal in the win.

Shore 4, St. John Vianney 0

Ryan Bongarzone scored Shore's first two goals and the Blue Devils (2-6) rolled past the Lancers (3-5) for their second win of the season.

Will LaBruno made it 3-0 in the 63rd minute and fellow freshman Chris Hazel added a goal in the 78th to seal the win.

Wall 1, No. 10 Manasquan 0 (OT)

Senior John Volpe scored the golden goal in the 16th minute of overtime off a pass from junior Aidan Newbury and the Crimson Knights (7-1) won their seventh straight by snapping a four-game winning streak by the Warriors (5-2).

Howell 6, St. Rose 1

Senior Dylan Dougher assisted Howell's first three goals and scored its fourth just before the half to spark the Rebels (5-2) to a win over the Purple Roses (3-4-1).

Senior Joe Amitrano scored the second Howell goal in the 11th minute and also assisted on the sixth Rebels goal, which junior Jared Rubman scored in the 73rd minute.

Junior Nick Cavallero opened the scoring in the fourth minute and Rob Saunders scored off Dougher's third assist in the 37th. Dougher scored his goal just two minutes after collecting his third assist.

Mike Anello scored the fifth Howell goal off a pass from Kyle Clark, while Evan Walters scored the lone St. Rose goal to make it 5-1 in the 68th.

Middletown South 3, Middletown North 2

Danny Minze scored a goal and assisted another to pace the Eagles (3-5) to a win over the rival Lions (2-6). Matt Cozzi and Joey Petzold each added a goal for Middletown South, with Jonathan Santos and Aaron Oliveira each chipping in an assist.

Green Wave Invitational

At Delbarton

CBA 4, Chaminade (N.Y.) 1

Senior Joe Lozowski assisted the first goal of the game by senior Jack Gill and later put the game on ice with a goal in the 69th as the Colts swept the weekend at Delbarton and the Green Wave Invitational for the third straight season.

Gill's goal put CBA ahead, 1-0, in the fourth minute and Lozowski headed in a Connor Anderko free kick in the 69th to extend CBA's lead to 3-0.

Luke Pascarella headed in a cross from Jack Hempstead in the 33rd to push CBA's lead to 2-0 and Zach Giglio capped the Colts portion of the scoring in the 76th.
