Freehold Boro 2, Neptune 1

Jake Brower scored one Freehold goal and assisted the other by Andrew Greitz to help the Colonials (5-7, 4-5) snap a three-game skid by beating the Scarlet Fliers (4-4, 3-4). Brower scored off a through-ball from Isaac Ball in the 16th minute and served up a corner kick in the 68th that Greitz headed into the goal.

Dylan Schembri scored off a long free kick into the box by Mickenna Church in the 70th minute to pull Neptune within 2-1.

No. 7 Howell 2, Manalapan 1

Rob Saunders scored in the 10th minute and Adam Jiries added a goal in the 47th as the Rebels (6-2-1, 6-2-1) jumped out to a two-goal lead and held on to beat the Braves (2-4-3, 2-3-3) for their sixth straight win.

Adam Goldberg volleyed home a corner kick by Quentin Pickering in the 55th minute to cut the Howell lead to 2-1.

No. 2 CBA 3, Marlboro 0

Dominic Bellomo scored in the 29th minute and Evan Koczan and Joe Lozwoski each added a goal in the second half to lead the Colts (11-1, 8-0) to a win over the Mustangs (0-9-2, 0-7-2). Shane Keenan and Eric Wnorowski both contributed to the shutout in goal.

No. 10 Freehold Twp. 5, Colts Neck 1

Alex Langa and Jon Finocchiaro each scored two goals and the Patriots (7-4, 6-3) rattled off five unanswered goals after falling behind 1-0 to bury the Cougars (3-7, 2-7). Langa also assisted a goal and Kevin Finn added a goal and an assist for Freehold Township.

Paul Tepedino got Colts Neck on the board with an early goal that gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead.

 

Class A Central

No. 1 Holmdel 7, Red Bank 1

Cyrus Darvish recorded a hat trick and the Hornets (9-0, 8-0) cruised past the Bucs (1-8, 1-6) to their ninth straight win to open the season. Anthony Arena assisted two of Darvish's goals and also added a goal and a third assist in the win.

Justin McStay chipped in a goal and two assists, Jack Giamanco added a goal and an assist and Mark McStay scored the final goal for Holmdel.

Eric Christie scored the lone Red Bank goal, which cut Holmdel's lead to 3-1 in the first half.

No. 9 Rumson-Fair Haven 2, St. John Vianney 0

Justin Callahan and George Sellig each struck for a goal off an assist from Jeremy Nives to lead the Bulldogs (9-1, 6-1) past the Lancers (1-7-1, 1-6-1).

Shore 2, Raritan 2

Ryan Bongarzone and Leo Montesinos both scored in the second half to help the Blue Devils (5-6-1, 4-3-1) erase a two-goal halftime deficit and salvage a draw with the Rockets (3-4-2, 1-4-2).

Jake Fortune assisted first-half goals by Anthony Sparacino and Nick Bavaro that staked Raritan to a 2-0 lead by the 35th minute.

 

Class A South

No. 4 Jackson Memorial 2, Brick 1 (OT)

Ben Schnaak headed in a corner kick by Dan Russo for the golden goal, which lifted the Jaguars (10-1-1, 7-1-1) to an overtime win over the Green Dragons (2-7-2, 2-6-1). Russo also scored the first Jackson Memorial goal on a pass from Chase Olejarz.

Alejandro Rodriguez scored the equalizer in the second half to force overtime.

 

Class B North

Wall 2, Middletown North 1

John Volpe and Ryan Garibay scored a goal each and the Crimson Knights (6-5, 5-4) took down the Lions (7-5, 4-5) to climb back over the .500 mark. Volpe opened the scoring on a pass from Tagg Ancrum in the 16th minute and Garibay scored the winner in the 33rd off a feed from Riley Powers.

Liam McGregor scored the equalizer for Middletown North in the 27th minute, with Pat Gallagher setting up the finish.

Ocean 2, Monmouth 0

Steve Carton scored off a pass from James Schutz, then set Schutz up for another first-half goal as the Spartans (8-2, 8-1) topped the Falcons (7-5, 5-4) for their fifth straight victory.

Middletown South 5, Manasquan 5

A penalty kick by Dulio Guerro capped a wild comeback by Manasquan, but after combing for 10 goals in regulation, the Warriors (3-7-1, 2-6-1) and the Eagles (6-4-1, 4-4-1) could not muster an overtime score.

Manasquan fell behind 3-0 in the first 12 minutes on goals by Jonathan Santos, Connell MacLellan and Mike Zito. Manasquan chipped away at the lead on goals by Matt Drake and Chris Capone that pulled the Warriors to within 3-2.

Danny Minze ended the burst by Manasquan by scoring to put Middletown South ahead 4-2. Manasquan's Nick Bilotti and Middletown South's Justin Gould traded goals to make the score 5-3 before Tommy Johnson scored to cut the Manasquan deficit to 5-4. Guerro's penalty kick pulled Manasquan even for the first time since the opening minutes.

 

Non-Division

Red Bank Catholic 4, Mater Dei Prep 0

Alex Nichols and Blaise Tamburi each scored two goals and the Caseys (3-8) beat the Seraphs (3-7) under the lights at Count Basie Park.

Southern 1, Lacey 0

Brad Bischoff scored the lone goal of the game in the first half and the Rams (5-4-1) bounced back from a winless week last week by beating the Lions (5-4-1) in an inter-divisional showdown between Class A South and Class B South.

 

Non-Conference

Donovan Catholic 3, Stem Civics 1

Oliver Nora scored a goal and assisted another to lead the Griffins (3-7-1) past Stem Civics. Vin Loffredo and Matt Kekatos also scored a goal each in the win.
