Monmouth 5, Manchester 0

Five different Falcons scored a goal and Monmouth opened its season by blanking the Hawks. Eric Caban opened the scoring in the 15th minute off a pass from Fabiani Morales in the 15th minute and Morales later assisted a goal by Ross Spadevecchia to make it 4-0 in the 56th minute.

Spencer Dunn scored the second goal in the 27th, Jorge Camargo added a goal in the 33rd and Matt Doucette converted a penalty kick in the 69th to cap the scoring.

Lacey 6, Barnegat 0

Fred Ciampa scored two goals and Owen Hope set up two others as the Lions stormed out of the gate this season with a win over the Bengals. Lacey scored three goals in a span of less than three minutes to take a 3-0 lead, with Ciampa capping the run with both of his goals. His first came in the 20th minute and his second less than three minutes later.

Hope found Robert Biele for a goal in the 21st minute to give Lacey a 2-0 lead. Nick Calarco scored in the 30th off a pass from Hope and Hunter Dorsey converted a pass from Dan Greener into a goal in the 37th that sent Lacey into halftime with a 5-0 lead.

Greener then added a goal of his own to cap the scoring in the 71st, set up by Luke Moynihan.

Neptune 2, Manasquan 1

Eliezer Santiago broke a scoreless tie with a goal in the 53rd minute and Vinny Tremarco converted a penalty kick for what turned out to be the game-winner in the 65th to lead the Scarlet Fliers to an opening-day win over the Warriors.

Sophomore goalkeeper Irving Rodriguez made 15 saves and denied Manasquan striker Enrique Perez on a number of chances to help keep the Warriors off the board for the first 77 minutes of play.

No. 9 Long Branch 5, Rumson-Fair Haven 1

Guillerme De Novaes scored five goals in his first regular-season game back since tearing his ACL on Sept. 1 of last year and the Green Wave pulled away for a win over the Bulldogs.

After Paul Criscitiello converted a penalty kick in the ninth minute to give Rumson a 1-0 lead, De Novaes scored his first goal in the 11th by touching down a long pass from Diego Galiz and ripped a shot inside the right post. He converted a penalty kick after freshman Juan Carlos Merino was taken down in the box in the 20th and made it 3-1 by converting a through-ball from Gibranni Padilla off a turnover at midfield.

The senior striker scored his fourth goal on a perfectly-placed chip that dropped just inside the crossbar and then finished a combination with midfielder Manny Camacho for his fifth goal in the 53rd minute.
