Rob Andrade headed in a ball from Dylan Parks in the 64th minute and goalkeeper Dom Pizzi and the Toms River South defense made it stand up in an Indians (4-0, 4-0) win over the Golden Eagles (3-2, 2-2).

Toms River North 2, Jackson Memorial 0

Sophomore Andrew Casey scored off a feed from Marco Imperial in the 26th minute and senior Mitch Reed added another in the 39th off a Jack Butz feed to spark the Mariners (4-1, 4-0) to a win over the Jaguars (2-3, 1-3), who were without standout striker Mike Schoener for the second straight game (hamstring).

 

Class B Central

Ranney 6, Keyport 1

Senior Brendan Wall recorded a hat trick and the Panthers (5-0, 4-0) strolled to their fifth straight win to open the season by taking down the Red Raiders (0-5, 0-3). Seniors Asher Kraut, Shane Keenan and Ian Dobrzynski each chipped in a goal as well.

Sophomore William Jimenez scored the lone Keyport goal.

Point Beach 3, Mater Dei Prep 1

Sophomore Ki Costa scored two first half goals on assists from Mike Ciorlian and Connor Prima to spark the Garnet Gulls (2-2, 2-2) to a win over the Seraphs (0-4, 0-3).

Prima added a goal of his own in the 58th minute off a feed from Dan Savage before Mater Dei broke up the shutout on goal by Kyle Dowlen in the 61st.

St. Rose 6, Henry Hudson 1

Senior Brendan Hueth notched a hat trick and the Purple Roses (4-1, 3-1) downed the Admirals (2-3, 0-3). Sean Breuche, Chris Gowen and Evan Walters each added a goal in the St. Rose win.

 

Class B South

Manchester 2, Lacey 1 (OT)

Junior Jordan Finkle scored two goals, including the golden goal in the 87th minute to lift the Hawks (2-2, 2-2) to a come-from-behind win over the Lions (2-3, 2-2).

Junior Francesco D'Amato fed Finkle off a service from junior Devin Ortiz and Finkle finished to give Manchester - which had not won a game since 2013 before an opening-day win this season - a dramatic victory over a team that finished in the Shore Sports Network Top 10 a year ago.

Finkle scored the equalizer in the 49th minute off a pass from Matt Brennan. Senior Kevin Miller gave Lacey a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 14th.

Jackson Liberty 2, Barnegat 1

Sebastian Navarro and Michael Spano each scored to lead the Lions (2-2-2, 1-2-1) to a win over the Bengals (2-3, 1-3). Junior Ryan Flaherty scored the lone Barnegat goal.

Pinelands 2, Donovan Catholic 0

Senior Matt O'Connell scored his Shore-Conference-leading 11th goal of the season in the 17th minute and sophomore Kieran Sundermann struck for a goal in the 28th as the Wildcats (4-1, 4-0) blanked the Griffins (2-1-2, 2-1-1) to move into sole possession of first place.

Junior Cade Sundermann played a ball over the top of Donovan Catholic's formation to set O'Connell up for a breakaway chance on the counter-attack. O'Connell drew out the goalkeeper and poked the shot into the net.

Frank Aguilar later knocked the ball to the right side of the 18-yard box, where Kieran Sundermann lined it up and drilled a shot to the far left post from 12 yards out.
