Class A North

Middletown North 2, Marlboro 1 (OT)

Senior Tommy Long scored the golden goal off a ball from classmate Aidan Cardella to provide the Lions (4-4-1, 4-2-1) with a fitting ending to a win over the Mustangs (1-6-1, 1-6-1) on Senior Night. Cardella also scored the first Middletown North goal, which tied up the match in the second half.

Senior Dan Risin scored the lone Marlboro goal, which gave the Mustangs a 1-0 lead in the first half.

No. 1 CBA 2, Middletown South 0

Senior Shane Borenius headed in a corner kick by senior Brett Sieg in the 13th minute and junior Dylan Cupo finished off a pass from classmate Jake Homowitz in the 62nd to ignite the Colts (8-0, 7-0) to a win over the Eagles (3-8, 3-8) - their eighth straight to open the season.

 

Class A South

Toms River East 1, Brick Memorial 0

Senior Alex Heid tracked down a through-ball from senior T.J. Scollan, touched it past goalkeeper Rich Kijak and finished the game's lone goal in the 18th minute to deliver the Raiders (4-7, 4-7) a win over the Mustangs (2-7-2, 2-7-2).

No. 8 Southern 2, Central 1 (OT)

Senior Ryan Leavitt scored off a pass from senior Kevin Kiernan in the eighth minute of overtime and the Rams (10-1, 10-1) survived the Golden Eagles (0-8-2, 0-8-1) with a golden goal.

Central tied the game in dramatic fashion, with junior Gianni Smith scoring the equalizer with just over a minute to play in regulation.

Junior Landon Beirne got the scoring starting earlier in the second half off the first of Kiernan's two assists.

No. 2 Toms River North 6, No. 10 Brick 1

Senior Jack Montanile, senior Ali Baish and junior A.J. Emnace scored within the first 10 minutes of the second half to break open a scoreless game and spark the Mariners (11-0, 11-0) to a win over the Green Dragons (7-4, 7-4) - their 11th straight to start the season.

Montanile added a second goal later in the half, while juniors Jake Nagel and Nico Gonzalez each added a score for Toms River North.

Senior Zack Meyer scored the lone goal for Brick.

 

Class B Central

Asbury Park 4, Mater Dei Prep 2

Senior Jean Roody Salomon scored two goals for the third straight game and the Blue Bishops (6-2, 6-2) upended the Seraphs (1-8, 1-7). Senior Jaquan Lunsford and junior Davenson JoinVilmar each tallied a goal and an assist for Asbury Park.

Juniors Zach O'Neal and Johnny Contini each scored a goal for Mater Dei.

Henry Hudson 3, Keyport 1

Class B South

Lakewood 2, Barnegat 1 (OT)

Senior Roberto Pelaez scored his second golden goal of the season, this time in the 86th minute to give the Piners (2-2-2, 2-2-2) a win over the Bengals (0-9-1, 0-9-1) in their first game in 20 days.

Junior Alexander Granda assisted the overtime winner and also set up a goal by senior Fernando Osorio that opened the scoring in the second minute.

Senior Connor Costello pulled Barnegat even at 1-1 with a goal in the 76th minute.

Pinelands 4, Manchester 2

Senior Johnny Hart contributed to all four Pinelands goals and the Wildcats (8-1-1, 8-1-1) bounced back from their first loss of the season Monday by beating the Hawks (5-4-1, 3-4-1) on Tuesday.

Hart scored two goals and assisted goals by juniors James Cahill and Stephen Dimileo. Senior Blake Weiner and sophomore Owen Edwards scored the two Manchester goals.

Lacey 1, Point Boro 0

Senior George-Kyle Hernandez scored off a set-up from junior Connor Bencik for the game's lone goal and the Lions (8-2-1, 8-2-1) edged the Panthers (2-5-1, 2-5-1) behind the third straight shutout effort by goalkeeper Anthony Leporino and the defense.

 

Non-Division

Shore 2, Point Beach 0

Sophomore Nick DiNapoli scored the deciding goal in the 30th minute and junior J.C. Gutierrez put the game away with a goal in the 78th to deliver the Blue Devils (3-8) a win over the Garnet Gulls (7-4). Freshman Maxx Eichenbaum assisted both Shore goals.
