Class A North

No. 1 CBA 2, Marlboro 0

Senior Shane Borenius scored a first-half goal off a pass from junior Jake Homowitz and junior Dylan Cupo added a second-half insurance goal off a set-up from senior Graydon Santos to guide the Colts (7-0, 6-0) past the Mustangs (1-5-1, 1-5-1).

No. 5 Long Branch 4, Howell 0

Junior Lucas Da Costa scored two goals and senior Augusto Bontempo assisted three as the Green Wave (6-2, 6-2) snapped a brief two-game skid with a convincing win over the Rebels (3-4-2, 3-4-2).

Jason Laviola and Danilo Rodrigues each added a goal in the win.

No. 4 Freehold Twp. 2, Middletown South 0

Junior Josh Hocheiser broke the ice by chipping the goalkeeper in the 10th minute and senior Adam Havens made it 2-0 with a goal in the 45th as the Patriots (6-3, 6-3) shut down the Eagles (3-6, 3-6).

Senior Caleb Zettell played the ball to Hocheiser to set up the first goal and senior Zach Orrico assisted Havens's insurance tally.

Class A Central

No. 10 Raritan 4, No. 9 Ocean 1

Senior Chris Fontanazza scored two goals and set up the last Raritan score to lead the Rockets (7-0, 7-0) to a statement win over the Spartans (5-2-1, 4-2-1) - their seventh straight to open the season.

Fontanazza gave his team a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute, then scored from the top of the 18-yard box less than two minutes into the second half.

Junior Michael Reid cut the Raritan lead in half by heading in a cross from classmate Brian Miranda just a minute after Fontanazza's second goal.

Raritan put the game out of reach with two more goals - one by Emir Pupovic and another by Lupo Ryder off a corner kick by Fontanazza.

No. 8 Holmdel 2, Red Bank Catholic 1

Tomas Zolofra and Matt Kistler scored first-half goals and the Hornets (7-0-1, 6-0-1) held on to escape with a win over the Caseys (0-8, 0-6) and extend their unbeaten streak to 62 games. Brendan Worobel and Noah Mendez set up the two goals with assists.

Monmouth 4, Shore 3 (OT)

Junior Ryan Kuldanek finished off a pass from classmate Kaan Pehlivan in overtime and the Falcons (1-7-1, 1-7-1) pulled out their first win of the season by beating the Blue Devils (2-7, 2-7) in extra time.

Kuldanek's golden goal completed a hat trick, with the junior scoring his first two goals to give Monmouth a 2-0 lead by the early stages of the second half. Pehlivan assisted the first goal and also assisted one by Arturo Reyes that broke a 2-2 tie in the second half.

Shore pulled even at 3-3 in the 61st on a goal by freshman Maxx Eichenbaum and earlier, the Blue Devils tied the game at 2-2 with two unanswered goals by senior Cory Moeller off assists from senior Kevin Silveira.

 

Class A South

No. 2 Southern 3, Brick 1

Senior Kevin Kiernan scored his 15th goal of the season and assisted another to lead the Rams (9-0, 9-0) to a win over the Green Dragons (5-3, 5-3).

Seniors John Paul Prosperi and Drew Wasacz each scored a goal as well and senior Brandon Notte contributed two assists.

Toms River South 2, Toms River East 0

Junior Danny Lindov scored a goal and assisted the other by junior Jalen Beaton as the Indians (4-5, 4-5) topped the Raiders (2-7, 2-7) to halt a four-game skid.

 

Class B North

No. 7 Wall 2, St. John Vianney 0

Junior Emmett Aravich scored the deciding goal in the 32nd minute off a pass from senior Sean Southwell and the Crimson Knights (9-0, 9-0) stayed perfect by beating the Lancers (1-7-1, 1-7-1).

Sophomore James Damiano scored his first goal in the 54th minute for insurance, with junior Connor Molloy assisting the score.

Neptune 1, Manasquan 0

Senior Cosme Fierro scored off a pass from senior Steven Camacho in the first half and goalkeeper Amir Houllier and the Neptune defense made it stand up as the Scarlet Fliers (2-7, 2-7) upended the Warriors (5-3-1, 5-3-1).

Red Bank 7, Freehold Boro 0

Sophomore James Castell opened and shut the scoring for the Bucs (3-6, 3-6), which rolled to a shutout win over the Colonials (1-8, 1-8).

Junior Jacob Kirkpatrick scored the second Red Bank goal and later assisted one by Senior Matteo Balderas that made the score 4-0.

Enoch Hutchinson, Lucas Sileno and Phil Stolfa scored the other three Bucs goals with assists from Matt Lynch and Joe Koetzner on two of them.

No. 6 Colts Neck 6, Matawan 1

Junior David Tuschmann recorded a hat trick and the Cougars (9-0, 9-0) shook off conceding a goal in the first three minutes to roll through the Huskies (5-4, 5-4).

Junior Tom Samaras followed two goals by Tuschmann with one of his own in the 28th minute, then assisted goals by Tuschmann and Ryan Tweedale before the end of the half. Tweedale's finish came with just four seconds remaining on the first-half clock to stretch the lead to 5-1 by halftime.

Jairo Chira capped the scoring in the final minute off a pass from Christian Zita.

 

Class B Central

Point Beach 3, Mater Dei Prep 0

Junior Tanner Curtis found sophomore Josh Boyan to finish the game's first goal in the 13th minute, then scored in the 45th off a pass from classmate Isaac Enu as the Garnet Gulls (6-3, 6-3) fought off the Seraphs (1-5, 1-5).

Senior Tom DeCristofano added a third Point Beach goal in the 50th off a pass from junior Luke Zylinski.

 

Non-Division

Manchester 2, Middletown North 0

Junior Brandon Sogness and sophomore Owen Edwards each scored a goal and the Hawks (5-3-1) upended the Lions (3-4-1). Junior Jake Ruocchio added an assist and senior Keith Fallon saved 12 shots to nail down the shutout in goal.
