CLASS A SOUTH

Toms River East 9, Toms River South 8

Matt Gannon, Xander Taffe and Salvatore Esposito each scored twice as the Raiders (1-6, 1-2) edged the rival Indians (1-5, 1-2) for their first win of the season.

Colby Dineen, Cody Joffe and Nicholas Price each tallied once while Jake Dallago was outstanding with 23 saves for Toms River East.

 

CLASS B NORTH

No. 1 Rumson-Fair Haven 17, Ranney 0

Junior midfielder Bryan Hess had a hat trick and senior attackman Robbie Garavente had one goal and five assists as the Bulldogs (6-1, 3-0) took care of business against the Panthers (0-6, 0-5).

Junior attackman Colin Pavluk had two goals and two assists, senior Henry Sillen and junior Andrew Walsh also scored twice, and junior Alex Werner and senior A.J. Bruno each had one goal and two assists. Senior goalie Daniel Browne needed to make just three saves to earn the victory.

 

No. 5 Ocean 12, Red Bank 9

Senior attackman Joey Appio scored three times and added four assists and senior midfielder Erik Rant fired in four goals with one assist as the Spartans (8-0, 4-0) extended their winning streak by defeating the Bucs (4-5, 2-2).

Ocean opened up a 7-2 lead after the first quarter and Red Bank was never able to put together a run to significantly close the gap. Sam Hanna added three goals and two assists and Richie Bianchi had one goal and two assists. Mike Nies also scored and David Walk made 13 saves.

Senior midfielder Ryan Gilmartin scored four goals with one assist and senior attackman Cole Smolokoff had three goals and one assist for Red Bank. Senior midfielder Brian Fagan added one goal and one assist, junior Pat Karr had a goal and senior goalie Jon Pierce was great with 22 saves.
