Shore 9, Toms River South 3

Junior midfielder Gil Goldsmith scored two goals, assisted on three goals and controlled the midfield with 16 ground balls to lead the Blue Devils (2-1) past the Indians (1-2) at Detwiler Stadium.

Jake Turner and Nick Crochet added two goals apiece while Ryan Morris, Tom Bocco and Justin Murphy had one goal each. Scott Sirianni made eight saves in goal to earn the win.

Declan Mullin, Jared Holmes and Shane Kluxen had one goal each for Toms River South while Chris Krause made 10 saves.

 

No. 9 St. John Vianney 11, St. Rose 5

Sophomore midfielder Anthony Brett had a monster game with four goals, one assist and a whopping 19 ground balls to power the Lancers (1-2) to a victory over the Purple Roses (0-2).

Nick Peckyno also had a five-point game with three goals and two assists plus seven ground balls and Andrew Gosse added two goals and one assist. Mike D'Anzeri and Andrew Gentile each scored once. James Guilbert was also a vacuum on loose balls with 13 ground balls on the day. Junior goalie C.J. Hanson made nine saves to pick up the win.

Spencer Flynn scored twice, Shane Reilly had a goal and two assists, Logan LeMoult tallied one goal and one assist and P.J. Dwyer scored once for St. Rose. Brandon Perry made eight saves.

 

NONCONFERENCE

No. 2 CBA 8, Don Bosco Prep 7

Trailing 7-5 entering the fourth quarter the Colts (3-0) scored three unanswered goals, including the game-winning tally by freshman Kyle Aldridge, to defeat the Ironmen at Georgian Court University in Lakewood.

Senior attackman Michael Carroll and junior attackman Connor Macrae led CBA with three goals and one assist apiece while Aldridge had a goal and two assists and senior Robbie Hermansen had one goal and one assist. Luke Valentino and Kevin Junquet had assists and Chris Downey made 10 saves.
