CLASS B NORTH

No. 3 Rumson-Fair Haven 13, Long Branch 0

The Bulldogs (1-3) enjoyed a respite from their string of challenging nonconference games to start the season and shut out the Green Wave (0-5) to pick up their first win of the season.

Kurt Bruckman and Jack Whitelaw each notched two goals and one assist and Rowan Goldin and Jacob Waters also scored two goals apiece. Andrew Frankel had one goal and two assists and Kiel Forlenza, Alex Maldjian, Sam Mannino and Thomas Russo each scored once. Sean Bunnell and Doug Duprey split time in goal and finished with two saves each.

Keith Dement made four saves in the loss for Long Branch.

 

CLASS B SOUTH

Lacey 15, Point Boro 1

Dylan Vitale and Dominic Waltonowski each sank four goals and added two assists to lead the Lions (2-1) to a blowout victory over the Panthers (2-2). JoeCarlo Chimenti added three goals and one assist and Ryan Giles had two goals and two assists. Mike Gallicchio scored two goals and also went 9-for-11 on face-offs. Senior goalie Justin Covey made 10 saves and also picked up an assist.

Colton Carls scored Point Boro's lone goal and Parker Roncin made 11 saves

 

Jackson Liberty 10, Barnegat 2

Brandon Gorski tallied four goals and one assist and Brendan Sheerin had a hat trick and 10 ground balls to send the Lions (2-2, 1-0) past the Bengals (0-3, 0-2) in their first divisional game of the season.

Max Matthies added two goals and two assists and Tom Ferullo had a goal and three assists plus six ground balls. Jake Bosco also collected six ground balls and Sean Reid made five saves to earn the win in goal.

Kaden Jason and Jacob Scleicher scored for Barnegat.

 

NONDIVISIONAL

No. 7 Holmdel 7, Middletown North 2

Justin Arredondo scored two goals and added two assists and Jake Preziose and Justin Cohen also scored two goals apiece as the Hornets (2-2) defeated the Lions (1-2) under the lights at Bob Roggy Field. Sean Dolan scored once and Nick Tuccillo made nine saves.

It was an emotional night for Holmdel, which honored the late Jack Dowd in a pregame ceremony. Dowd, who was the Hornets' starting LSM last season, died during a fall ball game from a previously-unknown heart condition.
