Results from Saturday's NJSIAA Boys Lacrosse State Tournament games as five Shore Conference teams look to advance in the playoffs.

NJSIAA TOURNAMENT

SECTIONAL QUARTERFINALS

SOUTH GROUP IV

2-Lenape 18, 7-Freehold Township 3

Tim Montgomery led a balanced scoring attack with two goals and five assists as the Indians (15-1) eliminated the Patriots (11-6).

Lenape led 9-1 at halftime. Juniors Mike Colicchia and Drew Dunn, and sophomore Chris Novella each scored one goal for Freehold Township.

 

5-Eastern 9, 4-Southern 6

Junior midfielder Will Johnson scored four goals and senior attackman Nick Simonelli had one goal and four assists, but the Rams (14-2) late rally fell short against the Vikings (11-7).

Junior attackman Kyle Mulrane added one goal and one assist and junior goalie Tristan Farina made 11 saves.

Eastern led 6-3 at halftime and 8-3 heading to the fourth quarter. Jack Tiernan had three goals and two assists and Zach Jacobs had three goals and one assist to lead the Vikings.

 

SOUTH GROUP II

1-Manasquan 15, 9-Somerville 7

Freshman attackman Canyon Birch scored five goals and added one assist and junior attackman Jarrett Birch tallied two goals and two assists as the Warriors (16-4) pulled away from the Pioneers (6-12) in the second half to reach the sectional semifinals for the firs time in program history.

Junior midfielder Devan Carroll scored three times, junior midfielder Pat Felstedt had two goals and one assist and senior midfielder Paul Krueger sank a pair of goals. Junior midfielder John Moran also scored and junior goalie Tom Pollock made 11 saves.

Junior FOGO Matt Thermann was dominant in the face-off circle, winning 18 of 23 draws.

Manasquan led 6-3 at halftime and 10-4 heading to the fourth quarter.

The Warriors will host fifth-seeded Hopewell Valley in the semifinals next week.

 

2-Rumson-Fair Haven 11, 7-Ocean City 0

Sophomore attackman Wyatt Feinberg scored three goals to lead a balanced attack and Rumson's pitched its second consecutive shutout to blank the Raiders (17-5).

Senior attackman Robbie Garavente had two goals and one assist and junior midfielder Oliver Heins also scored twice for the Bulldogs (17-3). Senior attackman Griffin Schultz finished with one goal and one assist and seniors Henry Sillen and A.J. Bruno and junior Charlie Curran each tallied once.

Rumson broke the game open with a six-goal second quarter to take a 7-0 lead into halftime.

Senior FOGO Butch Clark won 11 of 15 face-offs and picked up eight ground balls, and senior goalie Kyle Knapp made nine saves.

Rumson will host third-seeded Seneca in the semifinals.

 

FIRST ROUND

NON-PUBLIC A

10-Christian Brothers Academy 14, 7-Notre Dame 9

Junior attackman Nick Casner scored three goals and also had five assists, and senior midfielder John Salcedo scored four goals with one assist as the Colts (12-6) pushed past the Irish (12-6) and into the quarterfinals.

Down 4-2 in the second quarter Salcedo scored three straight goals as part of a 7-0 run. Salcedo's goals put the Colts up 5-4 at halftime, and they extended the lead to 9-4 after three quarters. Freshman attackman Connor Macrae had two goals during that stretch. Senior attackman Shaw Walczak tallied three goals while Cologialo Muscara and Robbie Hermansen each scored once. Junior goalie Ryan McGuiness made nine saves.

CBA will head north on Tuesday to face second-seeded Bergen Catholic.
