SOUTH JERSEY GROUP IV

Saturday, May 20

3-Southern 10, 6-Kingsway 8

Sophomore attackman Nick Fontana scored three goals with three assists, senior midfielder Will Johnson also had a hat trick and senior goalie Tristan Farina made 17 saves to lead the Rams (14-3) past the Dragons (8-10) and into the sectional semifinals.

Kyle Mulrane had a goal and two assists, Ryan Comfort had a goal and an assist and Ryan McWhorter and Dylan Smith each scored one. Anellio Russo had two assists and junior FOGO Anthony Firmani went 16-for-20 on face-offs.

Joel Scerbo had five goals with one assist and Ben Pagesy made 16 saves in the loss for Kingsway.

Southern will play No. 2 seed Lenape in the semifinals.

 

4-Freehold Township 10, 12-Washington Township 9 (OT)

Senior midfielder Mike Colicchia scored 35 seconds into the first overtime period to lift the Patriots (13-5) to a thrilling win over the Minutemen (6-12) to reach the sectional semifinals for the first time in program history.

Colicchia scored a team-high four goals and also had one assist. Senior attackman Drew Dunn had a goal and two assists, senior midfielder Mike Martino and senior defenseman Shawn Poole each scored twice. Senior midfielder Mike Ferdinandi had a goal and an assist. Billy Patten and Aidan Purcell each played a half and combined to make nine saves in goal. Purcell was stellar late in the fourth quarter with five saves after Washington Township had scored twice to tie the score.

Carson Schultz scored four times and Jake Dziergowski had three goals and one assist to lead Washington Township.

Freehold Township will play top-seeded Montgomery in the semifinals.

 

SOUTH JERSEY GROUP III

Friday, May 19

1-Moorestown 17, 8-Brick Memorial 1

Senior attackman Gavin Murphy had the lone goal for the Mustangs (10-8), who were eliminated from the playoffs by the Quakers (14-3).

Matt Wood made 13 saves and Vincent Spinelli had one assist.

Frankie Labetti scored four goals with one assist and Will Corbi had three goals and two assists for Moorestown.

 

SOUTH JERSEY GROUP II

Friday, May 19

2-Rumson-Fair Haven 18, 7-Ocean City 6

Senior attackman Charlie Curran fired in six goals with two assists and senior midfielder Bryan Hess had five goals and two assists as the Bulldogs (19-3) cruised past the Raiders (13-6) to reach the semifinals.

Alex Werner added a hat trick, Colin Pavluk had two goals and one assist and Peter Lucas also scored twice. Conor Deverin made seven saves.

Rumson will play sixth-seeded Somerville in the semifinals.

 

Saturday, May 20

1-Manasquan 14, 9-Hopewell Valley 5

Senior midfielder Devan Carroll had a hat trick plus two assists and senior attackman Jarrett Birch also scored three times to lead the defending champion Warriors (20-1) past the Bulldogs and into the semifinals.

Sophomore attackman Canyon Birch had two goals and three assists, senior midfielders Pat Felstedt and John Moran scored twice and senior attackman Joe Tonkovich had a goal and three assists. Mike PaPoint made four saves and Tom Pollock had three saves. James Pendergist also scored for Manasquan.

The Warriors will host fifth-seeded Seneca in the semifinals.

 

5-Seneca 11, 4-Wall 7

Will Forte and Connor Prindiville each scored twice while Mike McIntyre and Tim O'Hern each had a goal and two assists in the loss for the Crimson Knight. Kyle Peters scored once and Sean DeMott made eight saves.

Connor Fries had with four goals and one assist and Alex Stahre had two goals and four assists to lead Seneca, which will play top-seeded and defending champion Manasquan in the semifinals.
