CLASS A NORTH

No. 4 CBA 17, Marlboro 0

Sophomore attackman Michael Carroll scored five goals and added two assists to lead the way as the Colts (6-4, 4-0) dominated the Mustangs (2-8, 0-5) in Marlboro.

Senior attackman Shay Walczak had one goal and five assists, junior attackman Nick Casner had two goals and three assists and senior midfielder John Salcedo had one goal and three assists. Sophomore attackman Robbie Hermansen also had a hat trick and senior middie Shane McGuiness scored twice.

Freshman attackman Connor Macrae and junior attackman Matt Farrell each finished with one goal and one assist. Junior midfielder Ryan Madalone had one goal and sophomore midfielder Luke Valentino had two assists. Junior goalie Ryan McGuiness needed to make just three saves to post the shutout.

 

CLASS B SOUTH

Donovan Catholic 12, Point Boro 10

Seniors Peter Schlendorf, Matt Baltus and Alex Rosario each scored three times while senior Hunter MacPherson had two goals and one assist to fuel the Griffins (2-8) in their rematch with the Panthers (4-5).

Phil Mylod added one goal and Peter Rao made four saves as Donovan Catholic earned revenge after Point Boro won the first meeting, 9-7, on April 8.

 

NONDIVISIONAL

No. 6 Brick Memorial 18, Long Branch 0

Senior attackman Billy Porter scored four goals with one assist, junior attackman Gavin Murphy had one goal and five assists and sophomore attackman Joey Ferrara had a hat trick plus two assists as the Mustangs (9-1) shut down the Green Wave (0-11) at Veterans Memorial Middle School in Brick.

With his five-point game, Porter set the Mustangs' program record for career points with 130.

Zack Morton finished with one goal and two assists while Trevor Courtwright, Austin Magnus, Jake Murphy and Vincent Spinelli each had one goal and one assist each. Luke Vescovi, John Welby and Jack Yates each tallied one goal. Matt Wood made eight saves to pick up the shutout.

 

No. 7 Wall 6, St. John Vianney 5 (OT)

Senior midfielder Lucas Iarossi scored twice, including the game-winning goal in overtime, as the Crimson Knights (8-2) won a thriller over the Lancers (5-6) at the 18th Avenue Sports Complex in Wall.

Senior attackman Mike Steppe had a hat trick, including his 100th career goal, and sophomore attackman Mike McIntyre scored once. Senior goalie Zach Harrell made nine saves.

 

No. 10 Freehold Township 15, Red Bank 8

Junior attackman Josh Nastarowicz had a monster game with five goals and three assists to lead the Patriots (6-3) past the Bucs (5-7) in Little Silver.

Senior attackman Matt Lach had a hat trick and two assists while junior midfielder Mike Ferdinandi and sophomore attackman Chris Novella each had three goals and one assist. Junior attackman Drew Dunn finished with three assists and junior midfielder Mike Martino had one goal and one assist. Freshman goalie Aidan Purcell made five saves to earn the win.

Senior attackman Cole Smolokoff scored four times with one assist for Red Bank while senior midfielder Brian Fagan had one goal and three assists. Senior midfielder Ryan Gilmartin scored one goal and also had one assist, and junior midfielders Pat Karr and Evan Peterson each one one goals. Senior goalie Jon Pierce made 14 saves.

 

Red Bank Catholic 19, Brick 6

Senior midfielder Brett Habich tallied four goals and four assists to power the Caseys (6-4) to a victory over the Dragons (2-8) at the Drum Point Athletic Complex in Brick.

Sophomore midfielder Jack Kapcsos also scored four goals to go along with two assists, and junior attackman Joey Caputa netted three goals and two assists.

 

Barnegat 6, Lacey 5

Senior midfielder Joe Jinks had a hat trick and junior goalie Kyle Kessinger made 20 saves as the Bengals (4-5) edged the rival Lions (5-4) in Barnegat.

Senior attackman Ryan Reynolds finished with two goals and one assist and senior midfielder J.J. McKenna scored once.

 

Shore 11, Middletown North 8

Brothers Doug and Gil Goldsmith combined for 13 points to spearhead the Blue Devils' offensive attack in a win over the Lions (5-6) in Middletown.

Doug, a senior midfielder, scored twice while dishing out five assists while Gil, a freshman, scored four goals with two assists as Shore (7-3) pushed its winning streak to four games. Sophomore attackman Ryan Morris finished with three goals and one assists and senior midfielder Jack Britton added one goal and two assists. Junior midfielder Ean Delehanty had one goal and one assist. Senior goalie Hunter Avallone made four saves.

Senior attackman Bryan Flannigan scored three goals and senior midfielder Khristian Acosta had one goal and three assists to pace Middletown North. Junior midfielder Brock Zenker added two goals and senior Connor Hedlund registered one goal and two assists. Junior Anthony Manfredi, the usual starting goalie, grabbed a short stick for the game and finished with one goal and one assist. Junior Jake Roche made 15 saves in goal.

 

St. Rose 7, Middletown South 4

Sophomore attackman Shane Reilly poured in five goals to lead the Purple Roses (2-4) past the Eagles (6-5).

Junior attackman Griffin McDermott scored twice and junior goalie Robbie Brugnoli made 14 saves to preserve the victory.

 

NONCONFERENCE

Hightstown 15, Jackson Memorial 6

Freshman attackman Santo Porazzo and junior midfielder Dakota Neron each scored twice in a road loss to the Rams (4-7) in Hightstown.

Senior attackman Justin Mayer and junior midfielder John Chitren each scored once for the Jaguars (3-8).
