Toms River East 64, Brick Memorial 62 (OT)

Senior Zyaire Dorn hit a 25-foot three-pointer as time expired and the Raiders (3-4, 2-1) won a wild overtime thriller over the Mustangs (3-3, 2-1).

Junior Nick Manso hit a go-ahead three-pointer with seven seconds left to make the score 62-61 before the Raiders raced down to the other end of the court and got Dorn enough space to bank in the game-winner.

Dorn finished with 20 points and seven rebounds to lead Toms River East while sophomore cousins Ryan and Mike Goodall each added 14 points, with Ryan also grabbing seven rebounds. Senior Nick Silvia also chipped in 12 points and 12 rebounds to give Toms River East four scorers in double-figures.

Senior Anthony Argondizza led Brick Memorial with a game-high 23 points, while Manso finished with 11.

 

Non-Division

Shore 58, Henry Hudson 35

Junior Kyle Koob scored 22 points and the Blue Devils (3-4) cruised to a win over the Admirals (1-5) to snap a four-game skid. Junior Chris Panduri also tallied 20 points to go with his seven rebounds.

Barnegat 75, Keyport 36

Senior Alex Grogan led a balanced scoring attack with 12 points and the Bengals (4-3) stormed out to an early lead before finishing off the Red Raiders (0-6) and giving coach Mike Puorro his 100th career win.

Seniors Carson Francisco and Mike Revello each added 11 points for Barnegat and junior Sean Morris added nine in the win.

Sophomore C.J. Johnson led Keyport with 12 points.

No. 6 Colts Neck 52, No. 8 Toms River North 41

Senior Robby Hill led a balanced Colts Neck scoring effort with 13 points and the Cougars (7-0) opened up a close game late in the second quarter and into the third to take down the Mariners (6-2).

Senior Travis Holland led Toms River North with a game-high 15 points.

Manalapan 66, Toms River South 63 (3 OT)

Senior Colby Howard scored eight of his team-high 16 points in the fourth quarter and senior Justin Lynch scored 10 of his 15 after the end of regulation and the Braves (4-2) edged the Indians (1-6) in a triple-overtime classic.

Lynch also converted a drive to the basket in the final seconds of the fourth quarter that sent the game to overtime.

Sophomore Ryan Knorr added 14 points for Manalapan.

Sophomore Jalen Folsom led Toms River South with 23 points and senior Armani Vasquez added 15 in the loss.

Southern 43, Manchester 20

Senior Thomas Foster scored a game-high 18 points and junior Vinnie Deck added 17 points and five steals to lead the Rams (3-4) in a lock-down defensive effort against the Hawks (0-7).

Sophomore Josh Glenn led Manchester with seven points.

No. 10 Matawan 57, Middletown North 45

Senior Mike Dunne scored 15 of his game-high 22 points in the second half and the Huskies (5-2) pulled past the Lions (4-3) with a strong fourth quarter. Dunne also added eight rebounds and four assists.

Senior Reggie Tawiah added 15 points and five rebounds for Matawan, which outscored Middletown North, 20-6, over the final eight minutes.

Senior Rob Higgins led Middletown North with 18 points, but did not play the final five-plus minutes due to fatigue related to illness Higgins has been battling over the last week, according to Lions coach Mike Iasparro.

Senior Sky Cherry added 10 points and eight rebounds in the loss.

Jackson Liberty 65, Central 45

Junior Daniel Sofield scored 20 points to lead four Jackson Liberty players in double-figure scoring and the Lions (5-2) rolled past the Golden Eagles (0-7) for their third straight win.

Junior Takai Anderson added 15 points, junior Miles Neal poured in 14 and senior Kyle White netted 10 for Jackson Liberty.

Junior Nick Altieri led Central with 17 points.

Non-Conference

Holmdel 80, Sinai Christian Academy 34

Senior Tim Zhou scored 19 points and the Hornets (3-3) coasted to a non-conference win. Sophomore Doug Chan chipped in 10 points for Holmdel.
