BARNEGAT - The Barnegat boys basketball team snapped a five-game Pinelands winning streak while continuing one of its own Friday in a 47-26 win over a banged-up Wildcats squad.

Senior Mike Revello scored a game-high 21 points to lead the way. Barnegat's only 1,000-point scorer poured in 13 points in the first half, including baskets to beat the buzzer to end both the first and second quarters.

Senior Carson Francisco also poured in 12 points for Barnegat.

Revello's three to end the first ignited a 17-0 run that stretched the Bengals lead to 26-11. Pinelands scored only two second-quarter points.

Senior Caden Sundermann scored eight points to lead Pinelands, all of which came in the first five minutes of the first quarter. Sundermann took a shot to the face on a collision and missed the last 11 minutes of the first half.

Pinelands also played without junior Anthony Diaz due to an ankle injury that has sidelined him now for two weeks.

Barnegat limited junior guard and leading scorer Andrew Schulz to two points with a triangle-and-two defense that focused primarily on Schulz and junior Devin Kidd, who also scored two points.

Since starting the season 1-3, Barnegat has won six of seven, including three in a row against Jackson Liberty, Bridgeton and now Pinelands. Barnegat's season opened with a loss to Pinelands on the road.
