Opening Round

(7) Neptune 56, (26) Lacey 35

Senior Shakeem Richardson went off for 27 points, five rebounds, five assists and four steals to lead the Scarlet Fliers to a win over the Lions. Neptune will host No. 23 Holmdel in Thursday's round of 16 after the Hornets upset No. 10 Freehold Township.

Senior Myles Moody added 11 points for Neptune, while junior Chris Iapicco led Lacey with 23 points and 13 rebounds.

(6) Long Branch 77, (27) Keyport 42

Senior Terrel Cox scored 23 points and swiped four steals and the Green Wave rolled through the Red Raiders and into the SCT round of 16 against No. 11 Red Bank on Thursday in Long Branch. Senior Deon Williams scored six points and drew the primary assignment guarding Keyport leading scorer Alex Thomson, whom Long Branch held to just five points.

Sophomore Jamar Foster added 16 points off the bench and freshman Raheem Carter scored 13 points in his first varsity start. Sophomore Trevor Alvarez led Keyport with 21 points.

(9) Jackson Memorial 47, (24) Rumson-Fair Haven 45

Senior Eric Carter scored as time expired and the Jaguars rallied from a 10-point deficit in the final four minutes to avoid the upset and stun the Bulldogs. Carter led Jackson Memorial with 17 points and 14 rebounds while leading the Jaguars back from a 43-33 deficit with just over four minutes left.

Jackson Memorial will host No. 25 Marlboro on Thursday after the Mustangs upset No. 8 Shore on Tuesday.

(5) Manasquan 68, (28) Mater Dei Prep 33

Senior Jack Fay scored 15 points and sophomore Ryan Jensen added 14 to help the Warriors pick up a first-round win over the Seraphs. Manasquan will host Class A Central rival Red Bank Catholic - winners over Toms River South on Tuesday - in Thursday's round of 16.

Junior Tysaun White led Mater Dei with 10 points.

(13) Point Boro 48, (20) Middletown North 46

Sophomore Peyton Wejnert scored 21 points and the Panthers shook off a rough start to edge the Lions and advance to a round-of-16 game Thursday at No. 4 Matawan. Middletown North stormed out to a 17-4 lead in the first quarter, but Point Boro chopped the deficit to seven by halftime and took a two-point lead into the fourth quarter.

Senior Will Boccanfuso added 12 points, seven rebounds and four steals for Point Boro.

(19) Toms River North 74, (14) Manchester 60

Junior Ted Thelemaque scored 19 points and sophomore Ron Marinaccio added 11 points and 10 rebounds to help the Mariners knock off the Hawks on the road to advance to the round of 16 Thursday at No. 3 Lakewood.

Freshman Mike Nyisztor came off the bench and hit four 3-pointers for Toms River North, finishing with 12 points.

(25) Marlboro 52, (8) Shore 50

Senior Bobby Jastrzrebski hit a pair of free throws to break a tie with 0.5 seconds left and Mustangs stunned the No. 8 Blue Devils on the road to advance to the round of 16 Thursday at No. 9 Jackson Memorial.

Senior Mike Fasano led Marlboro with 14 points and junior George Elghoul added 11 in the win. Junior Kevin Bloodgood led Shore with a game-high 18 points, while junior Dan Largey poured in 16 and senior Dan Pillari chipped in 10.

(18) St. Rose 44, (15) Brick Memorial 42

Senior Matt Skea scored inside with 5.4 seconds left to break a 42-42 tie and the Purple Roses earned a hard-fought victory over the Mustangs to advance to a round-of-16 date with No. 2 CBA on Thursday.

Junior Nolan Slattery poured in a game-high 18 points, including four 3-pointers, two each in the first and fourth quarters. Skea finished with nine points, while junior Aaron Scheiderman led Brick Memorial with 12 points.

(16) Southern 57, (17) Monsignor Donovan 55

Junior Jake Logue pumped in 26 points and senior Mike Gesicki added 22 points and 12 rebounds to help the Rams outlast the Griffins. Southern will travel to No. 1 Point Beach in the round of 16.

Monsignor Donovan nearly rallied from a 45-33 deficit heading into the fourth quarter before ultimately falling short. Senior Kyle Carrington scored six of his 12 points in the fourth quarter, while senior Tom Cerami led the Griffins with 14 points and senior Eamonn Kearney added 10.

(23) Holmdel 67, (10) Freehold Twp. 66

Senior Jeff Harris buried seven 3-pointers and finished with 27 points to lead the Hornets to an upset of the No. 10 Patriots. Senior Gerard Nocera scored 14 points and senior Luke Mayell poured in 10 for Holmdel.

Senior Chris Talbott led Freehold Township with 25 points and seven assists. Senior Jordan McGill also scored 14 points in defeat.

(11) Red Bank 70, (22) Colts Neck 67

Sophomore Sadiq Palmer scored 19 points, pulled down 12 rebounds and blocked a potential game-tying three by Colts Neck junior Chris O'Reilly in the final seconds to preserve an opening-round win for the Bucs over the Cougars.

O'Reilly finished with a game-high 26 points while sophomore teammate Lloyd Daniels added 15. Junior Eddie Hendrex posted eight points and 10 rebounds for Red Bank.

(12) Red Bank Catholic 60, (21) Toms River South 40

Senior Quenton Nelson scored 17 points and junior Liam Byne pitched in 14 to help the Caseys top the Indians and advance to the round-of-16 on Thursday at No. 5 Manasquan. The meeting will be the third of the season between the top two teams in the Class A Central standings, with the home team winning each game by double-digits.

Senior Marquis Davis led Toms River South with 15 points and junior Khaleel Green added 11 in the loss.
