Marlboro 52, Manalapan 44

Senior Justin Markowitz led three Marlboro players in double-figures and the Mustangs (3-5, 1-3) beat the Braves (4-4, 2-2) for their second straight win. Junior Matt Ringel added 11 points and junior George Elghoul poured in 10 for Marlboro.

Senior Joey Pisciotti led Manalapan with 19 points and junior Kyle Mullen added 17 in the loss.

Howell 65, Middletown South 60

Junior Aaron Trimble scored 22 points and the Rebels (3-6, 1-4) topped the Eagles (2-6, 0-4) for their first win in Class A North. Junior Zack Rovner scored 10 of his 12 points in the fourth quarter, with all 10 coming from the foul line. Rovner also added six rebounds and five assists.

No. 2 CBA 64, Middletown North 35

Sophomore Pat Andree scored a game-high 17 points and the Colts (5-3, 4-0) rolled to a win over the Lions (4-3, 1-2) to remain unbeaten in Class A North. Junior Jack Laffey added 14 points and seven rebounds, while senior Louie Pillari had 13 points and four assists.

Senior Ian Wyckoff led Middletown North with 11 points.

Colts Neck 66, Freehold Township 56

Junior Chris O'Reilly scored 30 points and the Cougars (5-2, 4-0) picked up a key win over the Patriots (6-4, 3-1) in Class A North.

 

Class A Central

Holmdel 68, St. John Vianney 30

Junior Luke Mayell scored 20 points and junior Jeff Harris added 18 as the Hornets (5-5, 3-2) coasted to a win over the Lancers (1-8, 1-3). Senior Gerard Nocera also poured in 13 points for Holmdel.

No. 6 Manasquan 59, Monmouth 37

Senior Jack Fay had 20 points, five rebound and four assists to help lead the Warriors (7-1, 5-0) to a win over the Falcons, their fourth straight.

Sophomore Ryan Jensen added 12 points and 11 rebounds, while senior Tommy Toole had nine points, five assists and five steals. Senior Dan Curtis led Monmouth with 14 points.

No. 9 Shore 70, Raritan 44

Senior Dan Pillari scored 15 points and the Blue Devils (6-4, 3-2) snapped a two-game skid by beating the Rockets (3-7, 1-4). Junior Jack Byrne chipped in 13 points and junior Dan Largey added 12 for Shore. Sophomore Joe Strand led Raritan with 10 points.

Red Bank Catholic 77, No. 7 Rumson-Fair Haven 66

Junior Liam Byrne scored a game-high 21 points, including three of Red Bank Catholic's eight 3-pointers, and the Caseys (6-3, 4-1) beat the Bulldogs (6-2, 2-2) for their second win over a top-10 team in as many nights. Red Bank Catholic beat Shore, 81-75, in overtime on Monday night.

Sophomore Eddie Hahn scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half and junior point guard Joe Montano scored 12 points.

Rumson cut RBC's lead to 60-57 before the Caseys scored seven straight to push the lead back to 10. Rumson sophomore Brendan Barry hit a three to cut the lead to 70-66 with 43 seconds left, but RBC finished the game at the free-throw line.

Barry led the Bulldogs with 20 points and junior Thomas Famulary added 18.

 

Class B North

No. 4 Long Branch 42, Freehold 30

Seniors Terrell Cox and Hassan Foster scored 13 points each and the Green Wave (7-2, 4-1) beat the Colonials. Senior Dan Parr led Freehold (1-7, 0-4) with 11 points.

Red Bank 51, No. 8 Neptune 49

Sophomore Sadiq Palmer scored on a putback as time expired and the Bucs (6-3, 2-2) knocked off the Scarlet Fliers (4-4, 2-2) for the first time since 2005. Palmer scored 19 points to go with four steals while juniors Jimmy Ferrogine and Anthony Mitchell each scored nine points.

 

Non-Division

Ocean 45, Barnegat 42

Junior Taj Shomo hit a 3-pointer as time expired to lift the Spartans (3-3) over the Bengals (0-8). Shomo led Ocean with 14 points, five rebounds and five assists and senior Lucas Snow added 12 points. Junior Kyle Morris led Barnegat with a game-high 16 points and 11 rebounds, while senior Bennie Bivins added 14 points.
