Class A North

CBA 66, Marlboro 44

Senior Jack McGuire scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Colts jumped out to an early lead and put away the Mustangs to remain unbeaten in Class A North.

Senior Pat Andree added 19 points, eight rebounds, six assists and five blocks for CBA. Junior P.J. Ringel led Marlboro with 16 points.

Marlboro played without senior center Matt Dean, who injured his left knee Thursday against Middletown South. According to Marlboro athletic director Dave Ryden, Dean is out indefinitely pending the results of an MRI exam conducted on Monday.

Freehold Twp. 72, Howell 50

Senior Nick Facendo came up just shy of a triple-double with 15 points, nine rebounds and nine assists while also adding five steals as the Patriots hammered the Rebels to give coach Brian Golub his 300th career win.

Golub is in his 21st season as a head coach, all with Freehold Township.

Junior Steve Staklinski scored 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds and senior John Carroll chipped in 12 points and 15 boards for Freehold Township. Junior Ryan Zyskowski also scored 11 points in the win.

Sophomore Brandon Wilson led Howell with 13 points.

Freehold Boro 61, Middletown South 49

 

Class A Central

Rumson-Fair Haven 66, Holmdel 56

Senior Brendan Barry pumped in 32 points and the Bulldogs beat the Hornets for their 13th straight victory since beginning the season 1-3.

Junior Tyler Pierson added 13 points and sophomore Elijah McAllister posted six points, 10 rebounds, five assists and five blocks for Rumson.

Junior Nick Harris led Holmdel with 11 points and senior Max Phillips added 10 in defeat.

Monmouth 43, Shore 27

Manasquan 67, St. John Vianney 55

Senior Ryan Jensen scored a career-high 30 points the last two of which gave him 1,000 for his career, and the Warriors strolled to a win over the Lancers to sweep the season series.

Jensen also inhaled 25 rebounds to go with five blocks and four steals. Junior Devin Jensen - Ryan's younger brother - added 17 points and nine rebounds for Manasquan while senior Jack Sheehan chipped in nine points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Senior Zach Howarth led St. John Vianney with 17 points.

 

Class B North

Long Branch 64, Wall 30

Senior Anthony Velazquez scored a game-high 20 points and the Green Wave coasted to a win over the Crimson Kinghts. Senior Jamar Foster added 15 points and sophomore Tyree Morris poured in 13 for Long Branch.

Colts Neck 58, Matawan 41

Senior Lloyd Daniels scored a game-high 23 points and handed out four assists as the Cougars jumped out in front of the Huskies on the way to a B North win.

Senior Kyle Gordon added 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals for Colts Neck.

Senior Mergim Gjyriqi scored all 19 of his points in the second half to lead Matawan, which went the first 7:53 before scoring its first field goal of the game.

Red Bank Catholic 60, Neptune 47

Senior Eddie Hahn scored a game-high 25 points and the Caseys beat the Scarlet Fliers for their third straight win and fifth in their last six games. Hahn also had eight rebounds and five steals.

Junior Terrence Calandrillo poured in 13 points and senior Evan Madigan added 12 for Red Bank Catholic.

Sophomore Jared Kimbrough led Neptune with 20 points and seven rebounds and junior Barry Brown chipped in 16 in the loss.

 

Class B Central

Point Beach 74, Keyport 39

Senior Jimmy Panzini scored 19 points and sophomore Chris Pina added 15 to help lead the Garnet Gulls to a win over the Red Raiders. Sophomore Danny Frauenheim added 10 points for Point Beach.

Chris Hogrefe led Keyport with 15 points and Travis Alvarez netted 13 in the loss.

 

Class B South

Manchester 53, Donovan Catholic 48

Junior L.J. Robinson scored 23 points and the Hawks avenged a loss to the Griffins earlier in the season while also bouncing back from a last-second loss to Pinelands on Monday night.

Senior Shavar Reynolds added 13 points and junior Alex Lunn pitched in 10 points for Manchester.

Senior Riley Collins led Donovan Catholic with a game-high 27 points. Senior Tyler McShea contributed six points and 12 rebounds for the Griffins.

 

Non-Division

St. Rose 63, Raritan 51

Senior Billy Frost scored 26 points and the Purple Roses picked up a key non-division win over the Rockets. Senior Jordan Smith led Raritan with 16 points.
