Class A North

No. 2 CBA 69, Howell 38

Sophomore Pat Andree scored 23 points and the Colts (13-4, 12-0) clinched at least a share of the Class A North championship by beating the Rebels (4-15, 2-11). Senior Louie Pillari added 13 points, while junior Aaron Trimble led Howell with 22 points.

Freehold Twp. 58, Manalapan 44

Senior Chris Talbott scored 16 points and junior Jason Czajkowski added 12 to help the Patriots (14-6, 10-2) beat the Braves (5-12, 3-10) and clinch at least a share of the Class A North public division title. Senior Matt Colella led Manalapan with a game-high 20 points.

Colts Neck 48, Middletown North 42

Junior Chris O'Reilly scored a game-high 18 points and the Cougars beat the Lions for the first time this season in three tries. Middletown North won the first two meetings by double-digits, the first of which came in a Buc Holiday Classic consolation game.

Senior Ian Wyckoff led Middletown North with 17 points, while senior Brian Esser added 10 points in the loss.

Marlboro 57, Middletown South 56

Senior Justin Markowitz hit one of two free throws with one second left to break a tie and the Mustangs (10-8, 6-6) edged the Eagles (3-16, 1-11) to qualify for the Shore Conference Tournament. Markowitz finished with 16 points, while junior George Elghoul led Marlboro with 19 points.

Senior Matt Gray and junior Kevin Naughton each scored 17 points to lead Middletown South.

 

Class A Central

No. 7 Manasquan 64, No. 8 Shore 53

Senior Jack Fay scored 20 points and sophomore Ryan Jensen added 16 as the Warriors (14-2, 11-1) won a rubber match against the Blue Devils (15-6, 9-4), snapping Shore's nine-game winning streak. Sophomore Jack Sheehan scored 10 of his 13 points in the first half for Manasquan, which lost by 20 to Shore in the Buc Holiday Classic championship in December, then beat the Blue Devils by double-figures in each of the two Class A Central meetings.

Junior Jack Byrne led Shore with 19 points, while senior Dan Pillari and junior Kevin Bloodgood each chipped in 10 points in the loss.

Red Bank Catholic 79, Monmouth 35

 

Class A South

No. 9 Jackson Memorial 53, Toms River East 39

Senior Eric Carter put up 25 points, 15 rebounds and four assists to lead the Jaguars (15-5, 10-2) to a win over the Raiders (7-11, 2-10), which clinches at least a share of the Class A South title.

 

Class B North

Freehold 48, No. 4 Matawan 44

Senior Danny Parr scored 14 points and senior Donald Allen chipped in 13 to lead the Colonials (5-13, 4-8) to an upset of the No. 4 Huskies (16-3, 9-2). Freshman Elijah Barnes also blocked seven shots for Freehold.

Junior Jason Dunne led Matawan with 14 points and junior Joe Piscopo added 11 in the loss, which prevented Matawan from clinching a share of the Class B North title. The Huskies can still win the division by beating Neptune at home on Thursday, weather permitting.

No. 6 Neptune 62, Ocean 48

Senior Shakeem Richardson scored 28 points and the Scarlet Fliers beat the Spartans to move into a first-place tie in Class B North with Matawan, thanks to a Huskies loss to Freehold. Neptune can win the Class B North championship by winning at Matawan on Thursday, weather permitting.

Sophomore Ruquan Dean led Ocean with 14 points.

No. 10 Red Bank 73, Wall 71

Sophomore Sadiq Palmer scored 20 points and added six rebounds and five steals to help the Bucs (13-6, 6-5) edge the Crimson Knights (6-14, 1-10). Junior Eddie Hendrex chipped in 15 points and 10 rebounds, while senior Johnny Dengler (11) and junior Tyler Christie (10 points) also reached double-figure scoring.

 

Class B Central

Mater Dei Prep 66, Asbury Park 42

Senior Sam Miles posted 12 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and six steals and the Seraphs (9-7, 8-5) beat the Blue Bishops (1-15, 1-12) to clinch a Shore Conference Tournament berth. Senior Matt Eckert added 10 points for Mater Dei Prep.

Senior Paul Bacon led Asbury Park with 14 points and sophomore Mikal Fearon added 11 in the loss.

 

Class B South

Manchester 64, Central 49

Sophomore Jordan Torney scored 16 points to lead a balanced scoring effort and the Hawks (13-6, 7-5) topped the Golden Eagles (5-12, 4-9). Senior KaShaun Barnes added 14 points and senior Darius Barlow poured in 12 in the win.

No. 3 Lakewood 71, Barnegat 49

Senior Ben Watson scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds to help the Piners (18-3, 13-0) pull away with a win over the Bengals (1-18, 1-12). Barnegat was within 54-46 of Lakewood early in the fourth quarter, but Lakewood closed the game on a 17-3 run.

Sophomore Sean Barksdale poured in 18 points off the bench and senior Dan Niblack added 14 points for Lakewood.

Monsignor Donovan 65, Jackson Liberty 58

Senior Tom Cerami scored a career-high 27 points and the Griffins (13-6, 9-4) beat the Lions (9-12, 5-8) to eliminate Jackson Liberty from Shore Conference Tournament contention.

 

Non-Division

Pinelands 61, Henry Hudson 53

David Lunn scored 22 points and D.J. Kidd added 18 points and 10 rebounds as the Wildcats (5-13) beat the Admirals (6-13) on the road.

Brick Memorial 63, Rumson-Fair Haven 59

Junior R.J. Hernandez scored 18 points to go with 13 rebounds and the Mustangs (11-7) edged the Bulldogs (10-8) in an inter-divisional game between potential SCT-bound teams. Junior Aaron Scheiderman added 11 points for Brick Memorial.

Sophomore Brendan Barry led Rumson with a game-high 19 points and senior Jack Herrmann poured in 19 in the loss.

 

Non-Conference

South River 73, Ranney 62

Senior Esquival-Murphy scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds, but the Panthers (7-11) fell to the Rams. Sophomore James Geraghty added 13 points and six assists for Ranney.

South Amboy at Keansburg, 5:30 p.m.
