Class A North

No. 6 Neptune 63, Howell 58 (OT)

Sophomore Dwaine Jones scored 18 points and junior Jared Kimbrough posted 17 points, 22 rebounds and three blocks as the Scarlet Fliers (11-6, 8-3) pulled out a win over the Rebels (5-12, 2-9) on the road.

Jones hit a go-ahead three in the final 30 seconds to give Neptune a 47-46 lead and after a pair of Neptune free throws, Howell junior Eddie Morales drilled a game-tying three as time expired, sending the game to overtime.

Morales and junior Nasiem Brantley each scored 12 points to lead Howell. Senior Tyler Hoops added 11 points and sophomore Matt Ganter netted 10 in the loss.

No. 8 CBA 63, Freehold Boro 40

Sophomore Stephen Braunstein scored 19 points and the Colts (12-5, 7-4) beat the Colonials (2-16, 2-9) for their fifth straight win. Sophomore Josh Cohen and senior Matt Lautato each chipped in 12 for CBA.

Senior Chris Cassandra led Freehold Boro with 17 points.

 

Class A South

No. 5 Toms River North 64, Jackson Memorial 61

Senior Jaden Rhoden scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to help the Mariners (18-1, 10-0) edge the Jaguars (8-7, 5-5) and remain perfect in Class A South. Senior Mike Nyisztor added 14 points and eight rebounds and senior Sean O'Donnell poured in 10 points for Toms River North.

Senior Calvin Blue led Jackson Memorial with 18 points, senior John Pitlak scored 14 and senior Ryan Lucas pitched in 12 in the loss.

Southern 70, Brick Memorial 44

Junior Jake DuBois pumped in 27 points to ignite the Rams (5-13, 3-8) in a rout of the Mustangs (6-10, 4-6). Senior Mark Valeriani also added 14 points for Southern. Junior Vinny Hernandez led Brick Memorial with eight points.

Brick 74, Toms River East 66

Sophomore Shane Williams scored 19 points and the Green Dragons (11-5, 6-4) outlasted the Raiders (4-11, 1-10). Williams also added nine rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks in the win.

Senior Noah Buono chipped in 17 points and 10 rebounds while senior Anthony DeStefano put up 16 points, eight rebounds and three blocks for Brick. Senior Brandon Williams added six points, 10 assists and three steals, junior Dan Venezia had nine points, four rebounds, four assists and four steal, and senior Doug Boor put up seven points and 12 rebounds.

Toms River South 42, No. 9 Central 37

Senior Jake Regan scored 15 points and the Indians (5-10, 4-6) knocked off the Golden Eagles (15-3, 8-2), snapping Central's eight-game winning streak while also ending Toms River South's five-game skid.

Senior Maks Gruszecki led Central with 20 points.

 

Class B North

Middletown South 67, Manasquan 50

Junior Dave Gervase scored a game-high 22 points and the Eagles (6-12, 4-7) bombarded the first-place Warriors (11-6, 8-3). Junior Ryan Purcell added 20 points and senior Scott Kirschner poured in 14 points to go with nine rebounds and four blocks for Middletown South.

Senior Devin Jensen led Manasquan with 15 points and sophomore Brad McCabe added 11 points and nine boards in the loss.

Red Bank Catholic 63, Monmouth 44

Senior Terence Calandrillo scored 23 points and the Caseys (11-6, 8-3) rolled to a win over the Falcons (3-14, 0-11). Freshman Charlie Gordinier added 11 points and senior Mike Conley chipped in 10 for RBC.

Senior Nick Cirlincione led Monmouth with 13 points.

 

Class B Central

Keyport 72, Keansburg 62

Senior Chris Hogrefe scored 23 points and senior Brendan O'Brien added 22 to lead the Red Raiders (4-14, 2-10) to win over the rival Titans (7-8, 4-8). Senior Cody Young also scored 11 points for Keyport.

Junior Danny Vital led Keansburg with a game-high 25 points and senior Nick Rizzi added 20 in defeat.

St. Rose 86, Henry Hudson 54

Sophomore Dave Calloway knocked down four three-pointers and scored a game-high 21 points to help the Purple Roses (13-6, 8-4) cruise to a win over the Admirals (1-16, 1-9). Senior Nick Paterno chipped in 14 points and junior Jared Scheininger added 13 for St. Rose.

Senior Tom Fennell led Henry Hudson with 17 points. Senior Amarjit Singh also scored 12 points and sophomore Jay Anthony poured in 11 in the loss.

Point Beach 80, Asbury Park 52

 

Class B South

Barnegat 41, Lacey 29

Junior Mike Revello scored 12 points and the Bengals (13-5, 7-3) pulled out a win over the Lions (3-11, 3-7). Junior Alex Grogan added 11 points on three three-pointers and junior Carson Francisco netted 10 for Barnegat.

Senior Geoff Fairclough led Lacey with a game-high 15 points.

Lakewood 58, Manchester 35

Senior Adi Palmer scored a career-high 33 points and the Piners (11-7, 8-2) hammered the Hawks (6-11, 4-7). Palmer also grabbed six rebounds, handed out four assists and swiped three steals in the win.

Senior L.J. Robinson and freshman Jakari Spence each scored 10 points to lead Manchester.

No. 10 Point Boro 48, Jackson Liberty 34

Senior Patrick Feehan scored 15 points and the Panthers (12-4, 8-2) took down the Lions (4-13, 3-8). Senior Connor Costigan also chipped in 11 points for Point Boro. Sophomore Daniel Sofield led Jackson Liberty with a game-high 19 points.

Donovan Catholic 60, Pinelands 33

Junior Anthony Silvestrone led a balanced attack with 15 points and the Griffins (9-8, 8-3) handled the Wildcats (2-17, 1-10). Sophomores Matt Melon and Glenn Swenson each added eight points for Donovan Catholic.

 

Non-Conference

St. John Vianney 60, Princeton 57

Junior Zach Moran scored 25 points and hauled in 13 rebounds to lead the Lancers (7-10) to a road win over the Little Tigers (7-8). Senior Rocco Giorlando also scored 15 points in the win.
