Class A Central

St. John Vianney 52, Raritan 49

Senior Grant Goode scored 21 points and the Lancers (6-4, 3-1) stormed in front in the third and held on in the fourth to pick up a win over the Rockets (7-2, 3-1).

Vianney outscored Raritan 18-7 in the third quarter to break a 26-26 halftime tie and survived a 16-8 run in the fourth by the Rockets.

Senior Matt DeBrizzi added 12 points and senior Kevin Callari added 10 in the win.

Senior Joe Strand led Raritan with 17 points. Senior Jordan Smith also scored 16, while senior Eddie Tynion had 10 in defeat.

 

Class A South

No. 5 Toms River North 65, Brick Memorial 47

Senior Hunter Petrick and junior Jaden Rhoden scored 15 points apiece and the Mariners (8-1, 4-0) topped the Mustangs (1-7, 1-3) to remain unblemished in A South play. Junior Mike Nyisztor added 12 points in the win.

Junior Darrion Carrington also scored 11 points for Toms River North, while senior Billy Porter led Brick Memorial with 11 points.

Brick 49, Lacey 36

Senior Kenny Buell poured in a game-high 25 points to account for more than half of his team's scoring and was the only player to reach double-figures as the Green Dragons (5-2, 4-1) beat the Lions (1-7, 0-5).

Southern 71, No. 10 Toms River East 70

Senior Peyton Wejnert exploded for a career-high 49 points and the Rams (4-4, 2-2) edged the Raiders (5-2, 3-1) on the road. Wejnert shot 21-for-22 from the free throw line and his final point total was the most by a Shore Conference player since Manasquan's J.R. Hobbie scored 49 in December of 2012.

Junior Phil Lingat led Toms River East with 26 points and senior Ryan West added 19 in defeat.

Jackson Memorial 68, Toms River South 66 (2 OT)

Toms River South senior Tyler Fall buried a shot from three-quarter court to send the game to double overtime, but the Jaguars (4-4, 3-2) bounced back in the second overtime period to pull out the win over the Indians (3-4, 1-3).

Junior Andrew Trent scored a game-high 20 points to lead Jackson Memorial, while senir Chris Hawryluk and junior Ryan Lucas pitched in 16 apiece in the victory.

Fall finished with 18 points to lead Toms River South and senior R.J. Laing added 10 in the loss.

 

Class B North

No. 7 Long Branch 48, Red Bank 47

Senior Anthony Velazquez scored a team-high 21 points and the Green Wave (7-2, 5-0) survived a trip to Red Bank by holding off the Bucs (4-5, 2-4) and remaining unbeaten in B North play.

Senior Sadiq Palmer led Red Bank with a game-high 24 points.

 

Class B Central

Henry Hudson 68, Asbury Park 52

Senior Chris Coberg scored a game-high 25 points to go with eight rebounds and the Admirals (4-3, 2-3) beat the Blue Bishops (2-5, 2-3).

Senior Tom DeFillippo added 18 points and five assists for Henry Hudson and senior Anthony Larue poured in 16 in the win.

Sophomore Ja'King Agostini led Asbury Park with 11 points.

Point Beach 77, Keansburg 24

Senior Mike Rice scored a game-high 19 points and the Garnet Gulls (3-5, 2-3) coasted to a win over the Titans (0-8, 0-5).

Sophomore Trevor Covey poured in 13 points for Point Beach, while junior Steve Flanders added 11 and senior Alex Mrusek chipped in 10 in the win.

Sophomore Vaughn Fitzgerald led Keansburg with 12 points.

No. 2 Mater Dei Prep 64, No. 6 Ranney 50

Senior Kyle Elliot and junior Elijah Mitchell scored 14 points apiece and the Seraphs (7-1, 5-0) stormed out to an early lead to beat the Panthers (9-1, 4-1), handing Ranney its first loss of the season.

Senior Elijah Barnes added 12 points, seven rebounds and four blocks despite fouling out early in the fourth quarter and sitting more than seven minutes of the third quarter with fourth fouls. Senior Bryan Harris pitched in 10 points off the bench and senior Josh Green added nine in the win.

Mitchell also defended Ranney freshman and second-leading scorer Scottie Lewis for the entirety of his time on the floor. Senior NyQuan McCombs (four points) defended freshman and Ranney leading scorer Bryan Antoine. Both Lewis and Antoine finished with 14 points each to lead the Panthers, while senior James Geraghty added 10 in defeat.

 

Class B South

No. 4 Lakewood 75, Jackson Liberty 33

Seniors Sean Barksdale and Amir Tyler combined for 48 points and the Piners (6-2, 5-0) coasted to a win over the Lions (2-5, 1-4). Barksdale finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds while Tyler posted 23 points, five assists and eight steals.

Donovan Catholic 51, Manchester 48 (OT)

Senior Riley Collins scored 17 points and the Griffins (6-3, 4-1) battled for an overtime road win over the Hawks (6-2, 4-1).

Senior Tyler McShea added 10 points, as did senior Mike Boice, who returned from a less-than-two-week absence due to a broken bone in his dominant right hand.

Junior L.J. Robinson led Manchester with 17 points and senior Jordan Torney added 13 in the loss.

Point Boro 74, Barnegat 59

Pinelands 56, Central 44

Senior David Lunn scored 14 points, grabbed eight boards and swiped six steals to lead the Wildcats (3-6, 2-3) to a win over the Golden Eagles (3-6, 1-4).

Senior Mike Suarez added 14 points and junior Chris Burke contributed 13 points and five assists in the win.

Anthony Petit-Clair led Central with 11 points.

 

Non-Division

Holmdel 70, Manalapan 50

Sophomore Kyle Cardaci scored a career-high 25 points and the Hornets (3-4) rolled to a win over the Braves (4-5).

Junior Nick Harris added 14 points for Holmdel and senior John Miller poured in 10 in the victory. Nick Carrolli led Manalapan with 10 points.

Ocean 57, Monmouth 47

Senior Scott Bradley scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds to help the Spartans (7-3) take care of the Falcons (0-9) for their seventh straight win. Senior Manny Padron also poured in 12 points in the win.

Senior Matt Mooney led Monmouth with a game-high 22 points.
