Class A North

Middletown South 51, Howell 42

Junior Dan Roibal scored a game-high 23 points and the Eagles beat the Rebels for their first Class A North win of the season. Junior Kevin Naughton added 12 points for Middletown South.

No. 2 CBA 72, Middletown North 44

All five CBA starters scored in double-figures and the Colts beat the Lions to move within one win of clinching at least a share of the Class A North championship. Senior Rob Kennedy led CBA with 13 points, senior Chima Ekekeugbor had 12 points, sophomore Pat Andree and junior Jack Laffey each added 11, and senior Louie Pillari chipped in 10 in the win.

Senior Ian Wyckoff led Middletown North with a game-high 14 points.

Marlboro 64, Manalapan 55

Senior Justin Markowitz scored 26 points and the Mustangs moved above .500 for the first time this season by beating the Braves. Senior Mike Fasano added 10 points and four steals for Marlboro, while senior Matt Colella led Manalapan with 15 points.

Freehold Twp. 72, Colts Neck 68 (2 OT)

Senior Chris Talbott scored 24 points to go with five rebounds and five assists and the Patriots pulled out a win over the Cougars in double overtime. Talbott hit 3-of-4 free throws in the final stages of the second overtime to put Freehold Township ahead.

Junior Jason Czajkowski added 14 points, six rebounds and three steals, while sophomore Nick Facendo chipped in nine points and four assists.

Junior Chris O'Reilly scored 22 of his 24 points in the second half and overtime to lead Colts Neck, which overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to send the game into an extra period. Sophomore Lloyd Daniels also added 11 points for Colts Neck.

 

Class A Central

No. 7 Manasquan 61, Monmouth 43

Senior Jack Fay scored 20 points and the Warriors topped the Falcons to keep their spot atop Class A Central. Sophomore Ryan Jensen added 13 points and eight rebounds for Manasquan, while junior Kyle Bradshaw led Monmouth with 15 points.

Holmdel 75, St. John Vianney 33

Senior Gerard Nocera scored a career-high 33 points and the Hornets hammered the Lancers in Class A Central. Nocera had two previous 30-plus point games this season, topping out at 31 prior to Thursday.

Junior Jeff Harris added 14 points and Ray LaForte added 10 in the win.

No. 9 Shore 75, Raritan 48

Senior Dan Pillari scored 25 points and junior Dan Largey poured in 24 to help the Blue Devils beat the Rockets for their seventh straight win. Junior Kevin Bloodgood added 13 points for Shore.

Red Bank Catholic 64, Rumson-Fair Haven 50

Senior Quenton Nelson scored 32 points and the Caseys rolled to a win over the Bulldogs. Senior Jack Herrmann led Rumson with 12 points.

 

No. 8 Jackson Memorial 62, Toms River North 58

Junior Gino Palummo scored 24 points and the Jaguars got past the Mariners to keep their hold on first place in Class A North. Senior Eric Carter added 15 points and junior Jesse Hill poured in 14 for Jackson Memorial.

Junior Jordan Craig led Toms River North with 14 points and junior Ted Thelemaque added 13 in the loss.

 

Class B North

No. 6 Neptune 83, No. 10 Red Bank 66

Senior Shakeem Richardson scored a game-high 25 points to go with seven assists and junior Micah Kerr added a career-high 17 to help the Scarlet Fliers beat the Bucs. Junior Kerry Kirkwood scored 14 points and junior Diondre Dunn poured in 10 for Neptune.

Sophomore Sadiq Palmer led Red Bank with 19 points and junior Jimmy Ferrogine added 17 in the loss.

No. 4 Long Branch 47, Freehold 40

Senior Terrel Cox led a balanced Long Branch offensive attack with 13 points and the Green Wave ended a three-game skid by beating the Colonials. Senior Josh Dixon led Freehold with 14 points.

No. 3 Matawan 53, Wall 46

Junior Jason Dunne scored 19 points and the Huskies held off the Crimson Knights to remain in first place in Class B North. Wall rallied from a 21-point halftime deficit to cut Matawan's lead to three, but ran out of time.

 

Class B Central

Mater Dei Prep 38, Henry Hudson 36

Senior Sam Miles scored 13 points and the Seraphs edged the Admirals. Sophomore Chris Coberg led Henry Hudson with 12 points.

Keansburg 44, Asbury Park 39

Senior Kason Preston scored 23 points and the Titans won for the fourth time in five games after an 0-11 start by beating the Blue Bishops.

 

Class B South

Point Boro 65, Pinelands 52

Senior Brian Byington scored 19 points to help lead the Panthers to a win over the Wildcats. Junior Zach Wiatrowski led Pinelands with 13 points.

 

Non-Division

Ocean 55, Jackson Liberty 40

Senior Chris Seager scored 19 points and the Spartans picked up a win over the Lions on the road. Junior J'son Clark (23 points) and senior Mike Healy (15) combined to scored 38 of Jackson Liberty's 40 points.
