Class A North

Marlboro 57, Howell 40

Seniors Matt Ringel and Kenny LaRocca each scored 14 points and the Mustangs (8-8, 6-6) pulled away for a win over the Rebels (9-8, 5-6). Ringel scored all 14 of his points in the first quarter and LaRocca buried four three-pointers. Sophomore P.J. Ringel also added eight of his 10 points in the third quarter.

 

Class A Central

Shore 48, No. 6 Manasquan 42

Senior Kevin Bloodgood scored 12 of his game-high 21 points in the third quarter and the Blue Devils (12-4, 8-2) blew past the Warriors (13-4, 8-2) to complete a regular-season sweep of their Class A Central rivals. Bloodgood shot 4-for-4 from three-point range in the third, when Shore outscored Manasquan 17-8 to take a 39-33 into the fourth.

Senior Dan Largey scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half and knocked down all four of his free-throw attempts over the final 30 seconds to seal the win.

Ryan Jensen led Manasquan with 14 points while Kyle Bradshaw chipped in eight off the bench.

 

Class A South

No. 8 Toms River South 55, Jackson Memorial 54

Senior Tymere Berry scored 22 points and added seven rebounds, four assists and four steals as the Indians (10-5, 8-3) edged the Jaguars (5-11, 4-8). Senior Khaleel Greene also poured in 19 points for Toms River South.

Junior Chris Hawryluk led Jackson Memorial with 16 points, while senior Jimmy Markham scored 12 and sophomore Ryan Omslaer chipped in 10.

No. 9 Southern 84, Toms River East 76

Senior Jake Logue scored 28 points and junior Peyton Wejnert added 22 to lead the Rams (13-4, 8-3) to a win over the Raiders (7-9, 5-7). Senior Eric Ray added 14 points, eight rebounds and five blocks while junior Ethan Dubois contributed 11 points and eight assists.

Junior Ryan West led Toms River East with 18 points and sophomore Phil Lingat poured in 17 in the loss. Justin Gant also scored 15 points for Toms River East.

No. 3 Toms River North 65, Brick Memorial 63 (OT)

Sophomore Mike Nyisztor scored 21 points and Evan Martin added all 12 of his points in the fourth quarter and overtime as the Mariners (15-2, 10-2) edged the Mustangs (6-9, 5-6) in overtime to avoid a season sweep at the hands of the Mustangs.

Senior Jordan Craig added 12 points and 12 rebounds while sophomore Darrion Carrington chipped in 10 points and eight assists.

Senior Aaron Scheiderman led Brick Memorial with 20 points and senior Scott White poured in 16 in the loss.

 

Class B North

Colts Neck 45, No. 7 Red Bank Catholic 44

Senior Chris O'Reilly scored 14 points and the Cougars (9-5, 6-4) rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit and a double-digit third-quarter deficit to knock off the Caseys (11-7, 7-5). Sophomore Lloyd Daniels added 11 points and junior Tom O'Reilly netted eight for Colts Neck.

Senior Joe Montano led Red Bank Catholic with a game-high 16 points and junior Eddie Hahn added 15 in the loss. Kevin Fazio and Liam Byrne each chipped in 10 points for RBC.

Wall 49, Matawan 42

Senior Trent Mitchell led a balanced scoring effort with 12 points and the Crimson Knights (12-5, 8-3) beat the Huskies (8-9, 6-6) to move back into a first-place tie with Red Bank in the Class B North standings.

Senior Brendan Barcas scored 11 points and senior Ryan Janeczek dropped 10 for Wall. Jason Dunne led Matawan with 10 points, five assists and three steals.

 

Class B Central

Point Beach 53, Keansburg 17

Freshman Trevor Covey scored a game-high 15 points and the Garnet Gulls (12-5, 11-0) coasted to a win over the Titans (0-17, 0-12). Junior Mike Rice added 11 points for Point Beach, while sophomore Stephen Flanders netted nine in the win.

Asbury Park 54, Henry Hudson 51 (OT)

Sophomore Josmair Taylor scored 18 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help lead the Blue Bishops (8-6, 8-4) to a win over the Admirals (5-8, 3-8) in overtime. Chris Coberg led Henry Hudson with 15 points and 14 rebounds.

St. Rose 50, Keyport 45

Senior Nolan Slattery scored a game-high 22 points and the Purple Roses (11-7, 9-1) outlasted the Red Raiders (5-9, 4-8) for their fifth straight win. Matt Frost and Brendan Hueth each chipped in eight points for St. Rose, while senior Travis Alvarez scored 17 points and Joe Froncek 14 for Keyport.

Mater Dei Prep 38, Ranney 37

Freshman Sky Cherry scored on a putback with four seconds left and the Seraphs (10-8, 9-3) erased a seven-point deficit over the final 1:19 to stun the Panthers (5-10, 2-10) on the road. Cherry, senior Tysaun White and senior Patric Donohue each scored 10 points to lead Mater Dei, while sophomore Joe Mahoney led Ranney with a game-high 11 points.

 

Class B South

Barnegat 50, Point Boro 39

Nick Camarato scored 17 points and Mike Revello added 15 as the Bengals (8-8, 4-6) beat the Panthers (4-11, 3-8) to climb back to the .500 mark. DaShawn Anderson also added 11 points for Barnegat, while John Venturi led Point Boro with 13.

No. 2 Lakewood 53, Jackson Liberty 31

Senior Chapelle Cook scored 14 points and pulled in 12 rebounds to help lead the Piners (14-2, 11-0) to a win over the Lions (1-13, 0-11) on Senior Night in Lakewood. Senior Ryan Lawrence also poured in 12 points, while junior Amir Tyler added 10 points and nine rebounds off the bench, as Lakewood sported an all-senior starting lineup Thursday.

Central 73, Pinelands 64

Senior Evan Lang scored a game-high 19 points and sophomore Elijah Barnes added 17 as the Golden Eagles (9-7, 7-4) beat the Wildcats (8-8, 4-7). Lang is now 15 points shy of 1,000 for his career, with Central travelling to Manchester on Friday.

Mike Suarez led Pinelands with 15 points, while Dave Lunn and Luke Stambaugh each added 14 in defeat.

 

Non-Division

No. 4 Freehold Twp. 58, Holmdel 48

Senior Tyree Wilson scored 15 points and pulled in 10 rebounds as the Patriots (14-4) got past the Hornets (6-10) in the non-division game. Junior Nick Facendo added 10 points, while senior Danny Saunders posted nine points and four blocks.

Freshman Kyle Cardaci led Holmdel with 14 points on four three-pointers and junior John Miller added 11.
