Sophomore Kyle Cardaci scored 21 points and the Hornets held off the Falcons.

 

Class A South

Toms River East 57, Brick Memorial 39

Junior Phil Lingat scored 18 points and the Raiders pulled away for a win over the Mustangs after entering halftime tied at 24 with Brick Memorial.

Senior Ryan West added 11 points and senior Bailey Engelhard poured in 10 for Toms River East. Senior Darius Richards led Brick Memorial with 14 points.

Jackson Memorial 76, Brick 58

Senior Chris Hawryluk scored a career-high 36 points and the Jaguars beat the Green Dragons. Senior Kenny Buell led Brick with 25 points.

No. 10 Southern 64, Toms River South 43

Senior Peyton Wejnert scored 29 points, grabbed eight boards and added three steals as the Rams coasted to a win over the Indians. Junior Mark Valeriani added 15 points and senior Ethan Dubois added five points and 10 assists.

No. 4 Toms River North 70, Lacey 34

Junior Darrion Carrington scored 15 points and handed out eight assists to lead the Mariners to a win over the Lions. Junior Jaden Rhoden and senior Mike Husni added 12 points apiece for Toms River North.

Senior Vinnie DellaVolla led Lacey with 12 points.

 

Class B North

Red Bank 47, Wall 38

Sophomore Devin Cooper scored a game-high 22 points and the Bucs topped the Crimson Knights.

 

Class B Central

Asbury Park 69, Keansburg 46

Xavier Rice scored a game-high 17 points to lead four Asbury Park players in double-figures as the Blue Bishops blitzed the Titans. Christian Braggs and Javon Higgs poured in 14 points each and Kaysaun Rice added 11 in the win.

Junior Quentin Godfrey also scored 17 points to lead Keansburg and sophomore Danny Vital poured in 10 in defeat.

Keyport 44, Henry Hudson 42

No. 7 Ranney 48, St. Rose 44

Freshman Bryan Antoine scored 22 points and scored twice in the final 1:20 to help the Panthers edge the Purple Roses. With Ranney trailing by one, Antoine stole the ball and scored on a lay-in with 1:15 left to put Ranney ahead, 45-44.

Antoine hit a pair of free throws with 23 seconds left to stretch the lead to three and Scottie Lewis knocked down a foul shot with 2.8 to go to ice the game. Lewis finished with 11 points.

Junior Brendan Hueth scored 15 points to lead St. Rose and junior Nick Paterno chipped in 12 in defeat.

No. 2 Mater Dei Prep 76, Point Beach 39

Senior Kyle Elliot scored 16 points and senior NyQuan McCombs added 15 points and eight assists as the Seraphs rolled to a win over the Garnet Gulls to sweep the season series from Point Beach.

Senior Elijah Barnes added 11 points, seven rebounds and seven blocks for Mater Dei, which outscored Point Beach 44-4 during a 15-minute stretch spanning parts of the first three quarters.

Senior Mike Rice led Point Beach with 14 points.

 

Class B South

Central 68, Point Boro 59

Junior Maks Gruszecki scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half and the Golden Eagles rallied to overcome a 19-point halftime deficit and beat the Panthers.

Anthony Petit-Clair also scored all 18 of his points in the second half to set a career high and Chris Downs poured in 14 for Central, which scored 55 second-half points after scoring only 13 before the break.

Senior Matt VanNostrand and sophomore John Duda scored 12 points each to lead Point Boro.

No. 5 Lakewood 80, Pinelands 54

Junior Adiam Palmer scored 20 points to go with five rebounds and four assists as the Piners rolled to a win over the Wildcats.

Senior Sean Barksdale added 17 points and five rebounds for Lakewood. Senior Dave Lunn led Pinelands with 16 points and eight rebounds while senior Mike Suarez chipped in 13 points in the loss.

Manchester 56, Barnegat 36

Senior Jordan Torney led three Manchester players in double-figures with 16 points and the Hawks took care of the Bengals. Torney also had seven assists and five steals in the win.

Junior L.J. Robinson scored 14 points and senior Israel Almestica posted 12 points and 18 rebounds in the win.

Sophomore Mike Revello led Barnegat with 20 points.

Donovan Catholic 42, Jackson Liberty 24

Senior Riley Collins scored 17 points to move within 14 points of 1,000 for his career as the Griffins topped the Lions.

 

Non-Division

Freehold Twp. 56, No. 8 Long Branch 51 (OT)

Senior John Carroll scored 13 of his 14 points in the fourth quarter and overtime to go with 22 points and six assists and the Patriots outlasted the Green Wave in overtime, snapping Long Branch's seven-game losing streak.

Senior Nick Facendo led Freehold Township with 22 points while also handing out five assists.

Anthony Velazquez led Long Branch with 17 points, five rebounds and four assists. Sophomore Tyree Morris scored 15 points and senior Jamar Foster poured in 12 in the loss.
