Class A North

Howell 66, Manalapan 57

Senior Matt Morton led a balanced scoring attack with 12 points and the Rebels (5-7, 3-3) beat the Braves (5-6, 3-3) to snap a five-game losing streak.

Senior Connor MacLeod added 11 points for Howell and junior teammate Jordan Jones chipped in 10.

Senior Scott Scherer and sophomore Matan Zucker led Manalapan with 12 points each.

Middletown North 67, Marlboro 63

Senior Colin Frawley hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 15 seconds left and freshman Rob Higgins scored 24 points to help lead the Lions (6-4, 3-3) to a win over the Mustangs (5-5, 3-3) in a tight Class A North battle.

Frawley finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds and his three gave Middletown North a 65-63 lead. Higgins hit two free throws to put the game away and also grabbed six rebounds.

Daniel Weiss led three Marlboro players in double-figures with 16 points, while Matt Dean added 14 points and P.J. Ringel pitched in 12.

Freehold Twp. 62, Freehold Boro 39

Senior John Carroll scored a game-high 23 points and grabbed 17 rebounds to help lead the Patriots (7-4, 4-2) to a win over the crosstown rival Colonials (4-6, 2-4).

Senior Nick Facendo added 11 points and six assists and junior Ryan Zyskowski chipped in eight points, four rebounds and three steals in the win.

 

Class A Central

No. 3 Manasquan 55, Holmdel 44

Senior Ryan Jensen scored 12 points and hauled in 14 rebounds while senior Jack Sheehan chipped in 12 points and seven assists as the Warriors (11-0, 5-0) beat the Hornets (3-5, 1-4) to remain the lone unbeaten team in the Shore Conference.

Junior Tom Sheehan added 10 points and five rebounds, while senior Shane Flanagan and junior Devin Jensen chipped in nine points apiece.

Sophomore Kyle Cardaci led Holmdel with a game-high 23 points, while senior teammate John Miller contributed 13.

St. John Vianney 61, Shore 28

Senior Zach Howarth scored 19 points and the Lancers (7-4, 4-1) coasted to a win over the Blue Devils (2-9, 1-4). Senior Kevin Callari chipped in six points and five steals in the win.

No. 9 Rumson-Fair Haven 67, Raritan 42

Senior Brendan Barry scored 24 points to go with six assists and four steals as the Bulldogs (7-3, 4-2) hammered the Rockets (7-3, 3-2) for their sixth straight win.

Barry scored 20 of his points during the second and third quarters, as Rumson took a commanding 32-9 lead into the halftime locker room. After starting the game 1-for-5 from the field, he finished 8-for-15, including 4-for-10 from behind the three-point arc.

Sophomore Elijah McAllister blocked five shots in the first quarter alone and finished with eight for the game to go with his five points and seven rebounds. McAllister posted a triple-double in Monday's win over Shore with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 11 blocks.

Junior Tyler Pierson also added 12 points in the win, while senior Mickey Schluter scored all eight of his points in the first quarter.

Senior Jordan Smith led Raritan with 12 points, all of which came in the third quarter.

 

Class B North

No. 7 Long Branch 77, Ocean 52

Seniors Anthony Velazquez and Jamar Foster scored 19 points each and the Green Wave (8-2, 5-0) halted a seven-game winning streak by the Spartans (7-4, 3-3) while picking up their fifth straight win.

Velazquez also added five rebounds, three assists and two steals, and sophomore Tyree Morris chipped in 11 points in the win.

Senior Jake Talarico led Ocean with 19 points behind six three-pointers while junior Darius Brown pitched in 11 in the loss.

Red Bank 48, No. 8 Colts Neck 45

Sophomore Devin Cooper scored a game-high 20 points and senior Ben Sprauer hit the go-ahead free throws with 10 seconds left as the Bucs (5-5, 3-4) knocked off the Cougars (7-2, 4-2) to end a seven-game winning streak by Colts Neck.

Senior Sadiq Palmer added 11 points before fouling out, leaving him just one point shy of the 1,000-point plateau.

Senior Lloyd Daniels led Colts Neck with 17 points.

Red Bank Catholic 57, Matawan 46

Senior Evan Madigan scored a season-high 27 points and the Caseys (3-8, 2-5) beat the Huskies (5-5, 3-3) on the roard to halt an eight-game losing streak.

Junior Terrence Calandrillo added 13 points for Red Bank Catholic, which opened the season with wins over Ocean and St. Rose before falling into the long losing streak.

Senior Mergim Gjyriqi led Matawan with 16 points and sophomore Michael Dunne added 14 in the loss.

Neptune 58, Wall 46

Senior Barry Brown led four players in double-figures with 15 points to help the Scarlet Fliers (4-6, 3-3) beat the Crimson Knights (2-8, 1-5).

Junior Jules Calhoun added 13 points and sophomore Jared Kimbrough and junior Scott Fields chipped in 10 points apiece.

Junior Gene Scott led Wall with 13 points and sophomore Steve Geis pitched in 11 in the loss.

 

Class B Central

Keansburg 46, Keyport 35

Junior Quentin Godfrey scored a game-high 14 points and the Titans (0-9, 0-6) beat the rival Red Raiders (2-7, 1-5) to pick up their first win of the season.

Sophomore Danny Vital added 11 points and sophomore Vaughn Fitzgerald poured in 10 points and blocked seven shots.

Junior Brendan O'Brien led Keyport with 13 points and senior Travis Alvarez netted 12 in the loss.

 

Non-Division

Barnegat 41, Monmouth 33

Sophomore Mike Revello scored 13 points and senior Nick Camarato added 10 to help the Bengals (4-6) pick up a win over the Falcons (0-10).

Central 56, Toms River South 53

Junior Maks Gruszecki scored 19 points and senior Chris Downs added 15 to help the Golden Eagles (4-6) beat the Indians (3-5) in a game played to benefit Team Trevor.

Justin Fall led Toms River South with a game-high 21 points, including five three-pointers.
