Class A North

No. 2 CBA 61, Manalapan 54 (OT)

Junior Pat Andree scored a game-high 30 points and the Colts (11-4, 8-1) avoided a second straight divisional loss by outlasting the Braves (8-5, 4-5) in overtime. CBA's 20-game winning streak in Class A North competition ended Friday against Freehold Township.

Jack McGuire added 12 points and senior Shaun Belbey chipped in 11 in the win. Senior Kyle Mullen led Manalapan with 14 points while Gerard Hodge-Rocourt added 11 for the Braves.

Marlboro 65, Middletown South 57

Senior Matt Ringel logged a triple-double with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 10 blocks to lead the Mustangs (7-6, 5-4) to a win over the Eagles (4-10, 2-7). Sophomore P.J. Ringel added 14 points, five rebounds and six steals, while senior Kenny LaRocca poured in 12 points on three 3-pointers and senior George Elghoul chipped in 11 points and three steals.

Senior Dan Roibal led Middletown South with 17 points.

Howell 55, Freehold Boro 48

Senior Aaron Trimble scored 22 points and broke Howell's all-time record for three-pointers made as the Rebels (9-6, 5-4) took down the Colonials (4-10, 2-7). Trimble hit five threes on Thursday to give him 101 for his career, two more than the previous record, held by 2011 graduate Tom Callahan, according to Howell coach Patrick Ramsay.

Gino Palummo added 13 points for Howell, while Greg McManus chipped in 10 in the win. Daniel Gewirtz led Freehold with 17 points, while Josh Dixon poured in 13 in the loss.

No. 3 Freehold Twp. 71, Middletown North 57

Senior Tyree Wilson scored a game-high 22 points, Dan Saunders chipped in 10 and Nick Facendo added nine to help the Patriots (11-4, 6-3) beat the Lions (5-8, 4-5). Freshman Dave Campbell led Middletown North with 18 points.

 

Class A Central

No. 9 Rumson-Fair Haven 70, No. 10 Shore 56

Junior Brendan Barry scored all 29 of his points after the first quarter and the Bulldogs (11-3, 6-2) beat the Blue Devils (10-3, 6-2) to spoil the celebration for Shore senior Kevin Bloodgood, who scored his 1,000th career point.

Barry scored 12 points each in the second and fourth quarters and buried two long threes on consecutive possessions in the final three minutes to put Shore up by 12 after Shore had cut the deficit to six. Alex Geiger added 10 points behind three 3-pointers for Rumson.

Bloodgood finished with 13 points and ended the night with exactly 1,000 points. he hit a baseline jumper out of an inbounds pass from underneath with 1:46 left in the game.

Dan Largey led Shore with 16 points, 14 of which came after halftime.

St. John Vianney 53, Holmdel 44

Junior Zach Howarth scored 18 points and the Lancers (8-6, 3-4) topped the Hornets (6-7, 4-5) on the road. Senior Luke Mayell led Holmdel with 12 points.

Raritan 65, Monmouth 22

Senior Dylan Dewysockie scored 14 points to go with 12 rebounds and five blocks as the Rockets (8-8, 3-6) routed the Falcons (0-14, 0-8). Junior Jon Rodriguez added 12 points, junior Joe Strand had 11 and Eddie Tynion chipped in 10 points and six rebounds for Raritan.

 

Class A South

No. 8 Toms River South 61, Lacey 56 (OT)

Senior Tymere Berry posted his first career triple-double and scored his 1,000th career point to help the Indians (8-4, 6-2) survive an overtime battle with the Lions (3-9, 2-6). Berry finished with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

Francis Hearne added 15 points and Tyler Fall had 12 for Toms River South, while Chris Iapicco led Lacey with 28 points and 12 rebounds.

 

Class B North

Neptune 56, Colts Neck 45

Kerry Kirkwood scored 16 points and handed out four assists to lead the Scarlet Fliers (8-7, 4-6) past the Cougars (8-4, 5-3) for their fifth straight win. Sophomore Barry Brown added 13 points, while senior Micah Kerr pulled down 14 rebounds to go with four points.

Senior Chris O'Reilly led Colts Neck with a game-high 19 points, while sophomore Lloyd Daniels chipped in 14 in the loss.

No. 7 Red Bank Catholic 69, Long Branch 48

Junior Eddie Hahn led four RBC players in double-figures and the Caseys (10-5, 7-3) rolled to a win over the Green Wave (1-12, 0-8). Junior Evan Madigan added 14 points, while Liam Byrne added 12 points and Joe Montano chipped in 11. Red Bank Catholic hit 10 3-pointers, led by Montano's three.

Sophomore Fred Reeves led Long Branch with 15 and sophomore Raheem Carter added 12 in the loss.

No. 4 Red Bank 61, Matawan 43

Wall 65, Ocean 62 (OT)

Senior Trent Mitchell scored 20 points, including his 1,000th career point, and the Crimson Knights (10-4, 7-2) survived an overtime road test against the Spartans (4-9, 2-7) to avoid a third straight loss.

Ocean senior Taj Shomo hit a game-tying three-pointer as time expired in the fourth quarter to send the game to overtime. Shomo finished with 17 points and 11 assists to lead Ocean.

Senio Brendan Barcas added 16 points and fellow senior Ryan Janeczek poured in 14 for Wall. Junior Jake Talarico hit four 3-pointers and scored 13 points, while junior Scott Bradley chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds for Ocean.

 

Class B Central

Asbury Park 74, Keyport 53

Mater Dei Prep 50, Henry Hudson 42

Jason Mandile scored 15 points and Tysaun White added 14 to help lead the Seraphs (7-8, 6-3) to a win over the Admirals (4-7, 2-7). Tom DeFillippo led Henry Hudson with a game-high 16 points.

Ranney 38, Keansburg 36

Junior James Geraghty scored 11 points and sophomore Joe Mahoney added 10 to help the Panthers (5-7, 2-7) edge the Titans (0-14, 0-9). Quentin Godfrey led Keansburg with 11 points.
