Senior Louie Pillari scored a game-high 21 points, but the Colts (1-1) came up short against the host Mountaineers. Senior Evan Gordinier added nine points for CBA.

St. Joseph-Metuchen 78, No. 4 Shore 68

Senior Dan Pillari exploded for 40 points on eight 3-pointers, but the Blue Devils (0-2) came up short in a competitive game against the defending NJSIAA Tournament of Champions runner-up. Pillari was named team MVP, while University of Kentucky recruit Karl Towns scored 19 points to earn MVP for the Falcons.

Rumson-Fair Haven 81, Visions Academy (Newark) 51

Senior Jack Herrmann scored a game-high 31 points to lead the Bulldogs (2-0) past Visions Academy. Sophomore Brendan Berry added 14 points and Thomas Famulary chipped in 12 in the win.

No. 2 Lakewood 51, Irvington 30

Senior center Ben Watson scored 20 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead the Piners (2-0) to a win over the Blue Knights. Senior Dan Niblack added 13 points and 11 rebounds, while senior Maurice Diawara pitched in eight points and six assists in the win.
