Boys Basketball – Shore Sports Network Players of the Week, Jan. 25 to Jan. 31
Shore Sports Network Player of the Week
Lloyd Daniels, Colts Neck
The Cougars catapulted back to the top of the Class B North standings last week behind solid team defense and the continued strong offensive play from Daniels. In Colts Neck’s three wins over Ocean, Neptune and Long Branch, Daniels averaged just over 20 points, including a 26-point, six-assist game in an 18-point win over Neptune.
Daniels also put up 18 points in a comfortable win over Ocean to open the week and overcame an off-shooting game to score a game-high 17 in a win over Long Branch that pulled the Cougars even with the Green Wave in the Class B North standings. Daniels hit seven of his final eight free-throw attempts in that game this past Saturday to put the game away in the fourth quarter.
Divisional Players of the Week
Class A North
John Carroll, Freehold Twp.
Carroll has been putting up double-doubles all season long, driven by a 14-rebounds-per-game average. Freehold Township played only one game all of last week, but it was a big one for the team and Carroll. The senior forward posted 24 points and 12 rebounds in his team’s 75-63 win over Middletown North.
Class A Central
Nick Cirlincione and Tyler Hawkins, Monmouth
The Falcons picked up their first win of the season by beating Freehold Borough behind 18 points from Nick Cirlincone and 17 from Tyler Hawkins. The Falcons are in the throes of a rough collection of seasons, but there has been some progress in the team’s level of competition over the last couple of weeks.
Class A South
Ethan Dubois, Southern
The Rams point guard threw up 24 points and nine assists in a win over Brick and nearly helped lead the Rams to a win over Toms River North on Friday before the Mariners ultimately pulled it out. In that loss, Dubois scored 19 points and dished out five assists.

Brendan O’Brien, Keyport
The junior had a career game in a win over Asbury Park last week, when O’Brien scored a career-high 31 points to lead the Red Raiders.
Class B South

Along with Donovan Catholic’s Riley Collins, Reynolds was one of two Shore players to join the 1,000-point club and he did so by scoring 19 points in a win over Point Boro while also adding nine assists and seven rebounds. Reynolds also started the week with 20 points and six assists.
