Brick 47, Lacey 39

Senior Brian Oehme scored 13 points to go with 17 rebounds and two blocks and the Green Dragons beat the Lions for their third A South win. Senior Ja'Quez Johnson scored a game-high 14 points to lead Brick, while junior Robert Biele led Lacey with 13.

 

Class B North

Colts Neck 45, Ocean 41

Junior Tom O'Reilly scored 15 points and senior Chris O'Reilly added 12 to help the Cougars hold off the Spartans.

 

Wall 47, No. 7 Red Bank Catholic 46

Senior Brendan Barcas scored a game-high 16 points and the Crimson Knights edged the Caseys to sweep the regular-season series between the two teams while also keeping their division title hopes alive.

Mike Andrejco scored off a pass from Joe Tashjy with 1:33 left to give Wall the lead for good and senior Ryan Janeczek knocked down a pair of free throws with 25 seconds left to push the lead to three.

Tom Montano hit two free throws on the next Red Bank Catholic possession and a missed front-end of a one-and-one by Trent Mitchell with 6.8 seconds left gave Red Bank Catholic hope. Joe Montano dribbled the ball into the front court out of a timeout and got off a clean luck that came up just short as time expired.

Janeczek added 10 points for Wall, while Liam Byrne led Red Bank Catholic with 13 points. Evan Madigan also scored 10 in the loss, including a go-ahead three with 2:05 left that would give RBC its final lead.

Wall and Red Bank are tied atop the Class B North standings with two games remaining for each.

 

Class B Central

St. Rose 68, Point Beach 57

Senior Nolan Slattery scored 22 points and the Purple Roses beat the Garnet Gulls to snap Point Beach's 39-game winning streak in Class B Central division games. Point Beach went unbeaten in Class B Central in each of the past two seasons and had not dropped a divisional game since a Feb. 2012 loss to Asbury Park.

Senior Jesse Hill led Point Beach with a career-high 37 points.

 

Non-Division

Jackson Memorial 63, Middletown South 53

C.J. Blue scored 15 points and the Jaguars beat the Eagles in a non-divisional match-up. Chris Hawryluk added 13 points and Eddie Landi chipped in 12 for Jackson Memorial. Dan Roibal led Middletown South with a game-high 20 points.

Matawan 43, Holmdel 40

Senior Nick Smith scored 16 points and pulled down seven rebounds as the Huskies edged the Hornets to climb back to the .500 mark (9-9). Samson Onitolo added eight points and eight rebounds for Matawan, while Mergim Gjyriqi hit two fourth-quarter threes and finished with eight points in the win.

Luke Mayell led Holmdel with 15 points and Jeff Harris chipped in 10 in the loss.

Newark Arts 98, No. 9 Southern 87

Junior Peyton Wejnert scored 34 points but the Rams fell at Newark Arts. Senior Jake Logue added 18 points, senior Eric Ray had 12 and junior Ethan Dubios chipped in 11.

Ridge 58, No. 3 Toms River North 36

Jordan Craig scored a team-high 10 points, but the Mariners could not keep up with the Red Devils, the No. 20 team in the latest Star Ledger Top 20.

Barnegat 67, New Egypt 50

Kyle Morris scored 22 points and Nick Camarato added 20 to lead the Bengals to a win over the Warriors, pushing Barnegat (9-8) above the .500 mark for the first time since 2011-12.

Rumson-Fair Haven 81, Fort Hamilton 53

Brendan Barry hit eight three-pointers and scored 30 points to lead the Bulldogs to a win over Fort Hamilton. Alex Geiger added 14 points and Thomas Famulary chipped in nne n the win.
