Class A North

Freehold Twp. 73, Middletown South 55

Senior Jordan McGill and junior Tyree Wilson each scored 15 points of the bench and the Patriots (15-6, 11-2) topped the Eagles (4-17, 2-11) in Class A North. McGill also handed out six assists in the win.

Senior Matt Gray led Middletown South with 20 points and junior Nick Wiley added 16 in the loss.

CBA 68, Marlboro 54

Sophomore Pat Andree scored 13 of his game-high 21 points in the first half and the Colts (14-4, 13-0) beat the Mustangs (10-9, 6-7) to clinch the outright Class A North championship. Junior Jack Laffey scored 14 of his 15 points in the first half for CBA.

Senior Justin Markowitz led Marlboro with 17 points and junior Kenny LaRocca added 12 of his 15 points in the first half in defeat.

 

Class A Central

Rumson-Fair Haven 60, St. John Vianney 59

Jack Herrmann scored eight of his official 28 points in the fourth quarter and the Bulldogs (11-9, 6-7) edged the Lancers (7-15, 4-9) in the completion of a game started back in early January. The originally scheduled game was postponed at the end of the third quarter because of a slippery playing surface with Rumson leading, 46-42.

Sophomore Brendan Barry finished with 13 points for Rumson and senior Vinny Facchino led SJV with 17 points.

Manasquan 65, Raritan 39

Senior Jack Fay and sophomore Ryan Jensen scored 14 points each and the Warriors (16-2, 13-1) beat the Rockets (4-18, 2-12) for the second time in 24 hours to clinch their second straight Class A Central title. Jensen also added nine rebounds and senior Ryan Kavanaugh added 10 points off the bench for Manasquan.

Sophomore Joe Strand led Raritan with a game-high 19 points thanks to five 3-pointers.

Class A South

Southern 77, Toms River East 49

Senior Mike Gesicki went off for 32 points, 16 rebounds, six blocks and four steals to lead the Rams (12-7, 10-4) to a win over the Raiders (7-13, 2-12) to wrap up their Class A South schedule. Senior Logan Sheehan added 13 points for Southern, while senior C.J. Hirschy led Toms River East with 15 points.

Jackson Memorial 52, Lacey 25

Senior Eric Carter scored 21 points to go with 13 rebounds, seven assists and two steals as the Jaguars (16-5, 11-2) beat the Lions (8-9, 7-6) to wrap up its third Class A South championship in four seasons. Senior Marcus Ademilola poured in 14 points and junior Jesse Hill added 13 points, eight assists and three assists in the win.

 

Class B North

Matawan 65, Neptune 55

Senior Joe Piscopo scored 22 points and the Huskies (17-3, 10-2) beat the Scarlet Fliers (11-7, 9-3) to win their first outright division title since 1965.

Piscopo connected on four consecutive three-point attempts during a stretch of the first and second quarters that turned a 9-8 deficit into a 20-11 lead. Matawan led by as many as 20 in the third quarter and held off a late spurt by Neptune that cut the Huskies lead to eight.

Junior Jason Dunne added 12 points - all in the second half - and seniors Chris Tawiah and Austen Planes each chipped in 10 points for Matawan.

Senior Myles Mooney led Neptune with 16 points, junior Kerry Kirkwood netted 13 points and senior Shakeem Richardson added 12 in the loss.

 

Class B Central

Point Beach 79, Keyport 48

Senior Noah Yates led four Point Beach players in double-figures with 19 points and the Garnet Gulls (21-1, 14-0) finished off an unbeaten season in Class B Central by beating the Red Raiders (11-6, 9-5). Senior Dom Uhl scored 18 points, senior Matt Farrell added 16 and senior Jeff Bryant chipped in 15 for Point Beach.

 

Class B South

Monsignor Donovan 63, Jackson Liberty 44

Senior Eamonn Kearney scored 11 points to lead a balanced offense and lead the Griffins (14-6, 10-4) to a win over the Lions (9-13, 5-9). Junior Matt Castronuova led Jackson Liberty with a game-high 12 points.

 

Non-Division

Wall 61, Mater Dei Prep 46

Junior Ryan Janeczek scored 21 points on seven 3-pointers and the Crimson Knights (7-15) beat the Seraphs (9-9) to snap a nine-game losing streak. Junior Trent Mitchell added 18 points and seven rebounds for Wall.

Shore 81, Red Bank 58

Junior Kevin Bloodgood led four Shore players in double-figures with 22 points and the Blue Devils (17-6) rolled past the Bucs (14-7) in a key game for Shore Conference Tournament positioning. Junior Dan Largey added 17 points, eight rebounds and five blocks, junior Jack Byrne poured in 15 points and senior Dan Pillari netted 13 points.

Sophomore Sadiq Palmer led Red Bank with 15 points.

Point Boro 74, Brick 49

Sophomore Peyton Wejnert scored 27 points and the Panthers (13-6) cruised to a win over the Green Dragons (1-20). Freshman John Venturi added 17 points and six assists for Point Boro.

Howell 52, Ocean 47

Junior Aaron Trimble scored a game-high 24 points and the Rebels (5-15) beat the Spartans (7-13) to snap a six-game losing streak. Junior Will Koscis added 14 points for Howell.

 

Non-Conference

Barnegat 57, Academy Charter 15

Junior Kyle Morris led three Barnegat players in double-figure scoring with 14 points and 12 rebounds and the Bengals (2-18) routed Academy Charter (10-7) for their second win of the season. Sophomore Nick Camarato added 12 points and sophomore Jared Kasco chipped in 11 for Barnegat.

Colts Neck 62, Ranney 37

Junior Chris O'Reilly scored 20 points to go with five rebounds, three assists and three steals to help the Cougars (10-7) beat the Panthers (6-12). Sophomore Kyle Gordon added 15 points and four steals, sophomore Lloyd Daniels poured in 13 points and junior Mike Lamb chipped in 10 points for Colts Neck.

Sophomore James Geraghty led Ranney with 15 points.

Bayonne at St. Rose, 3 p.m.
