No. 5 Rumson-Fair Haven 46, St. John Vianney 42 (Suspended Game)

The Bulldogs lead the Lancers 46-42 through the end of the third quarter in a game that will be completed on a later date due to unplayable floor conditions.

Manasquan 53, Holmdel 43

Sophomore Ryan Jensen scored 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds to help lead the Warriors (4-1, 2-0) past the Hornets (2-4, 1-1). Senior Jack Fay added 14 points, six rebounds and seven assists for Manasquan.

Senior Gerard Nocera led Holmdel with 15 points and senior Jack Flanagan added 14.

 

Class B North

No. 4 Long Branch 54, Neptune 49

Senior Terrel Cox scored a game-high 27 points and the Green Wave (4-1, 2-0) led the Scarlet Fliers wire-to-wire on the way to a key early-season win in Class B North. Senior Myles Mooney led Neptune (2-3, 1-1) with 14 points, while junior Kerry Kirkwood added 11 and senior Shakeem Richardson scored 10 after battling first-half foul trouble.

 

Non-Division

No. 9 Jackson Memorial 61, Freehold Twp. 49

Senior Eric Carter scored 19 points and the Jaguars outscored the Patriots 36-22 in the second half to beat Freehold Township (3-3) for the second time this season. Jackson (5-1) won the first meeting exactly one week ago with a 51-47 win in the WOBM Christmas Classic semifinals.

Senior Marcus Ademilola added 12 points and junior Jesse Hill chipped in 11 in the win. Juniors Jason Czajkowski and Dan Saunders each scored 12 points to lead Freehold Township.

Monsignor Donovan 57, Toms River North 56

Senior guard and Toms River North transfer Kyle Carrington hit a shot as time expired and the Griffins (3-2) won a thriller over the crosstown rival Mariners (2-3). Carrington finished with 14 points and senior Tom Cerami led Monsignor Donovan with 20.

Junior Jordan Craig led Toms River North with 19 points and junior Ted Thelemaque added 18 for Toms River North, who were without senior Evan Martin.

Red Bank 70, Red Bank Catholic 51

Four Red Bank players scored in double figures and five scored at least nine points as the Bucs (4-2) beat the crosstown-rival Caseys (2-3). Sophomore Sadiq Palmer scored a team-high 15 points to go with seven rebounds and juniors Justin Gilson and Tyler Christie each added 11. Junior Anthony Mitchell added 10 points and junior Moses Birch chipped in nine points and three blocks in the win.

Red Bank Catholic senior center Quenton Nelson missed the game while playing in the Army Bowl all-star football showcase.
