No. 1 Ranney 91, Keyport 32

Sophomore Scottie Lewis scored 31 points and the the Panthers (14-2, 10-0) barrelled through the Red Raiders (3-14, 1-10). Sophomore Bryan Antoine added 17 points and junior Kyle Smith and sophomore Ahmadu Sarnor each pitched in 11 for Ranney.

 

Non-Division

Brick 71, Henry Hudson 60

Senior Noah Buono scored 18 points and grabbed 11 boards to lead the Green Dragons (10-5) to a win over the Admirals (1-15). Senior Doug Boor added 16 points and eight rebounds while senior Anthony DeStafano contributed 10 points for Brick.

Asbury Park 57, Raritan 50

Matawan 62, Brick Memorial 55

Junior Mike Dunne scored 17 points and classmate Reggie Tawiah added 16 to help lead the Huskies (9-7) to a win over the Mustangs (6-9). Dunne also added nine rebounds, five assists and five steals.

Junior Anthony Argondizza led Brick Memorial with 18 points and junior Vinny Vecchione pitched in 14 in the loss.

Point Boro 50, No. 7 Point Beach 45

Senior John Venturi scored a game-high 15 points and knocked down 9-of-10 free throws to help the Panthers (11-4) upend the Garnet Gulls (11-6) in the battle of Point Pleasant. Junior Connor Costigan added 13 points and eight rebounds for Point Boro.

Junior Trevor Covey led Point Beach with 13 points and junior Chris Pina chipped in 12 in the loss.

St. Rose 64, Donovan Catholic 48

Senior Billy Frost scored 17 points and junior John Crowley added 16 to lead the Purple Roses (11-6) to a win over the Griffins (8-8) on the road. St. Rose broke open tight game that it led at halftime, 25-24.

Senior Jared Small led Donovan Catholic with 15 points.

No. 4 Rumson-Fair Haven 52, Red Bank Catholic 38

Junior Teddy Sourlis led four Rumson (14-1) players in double-figure scoring with 15 points and the Bulldogs topped the Caseys (10-6) to remain unbeaten against Shore Conference competition.

Sophomore Ian O'Connor poured in 12 points, junior Jack Solano added 11 and junior Elijah McAllister pitched in 10 points for Rumson. Junior Matt Ansell led Red Bank Catholic with nine points.

 

Non-Conference

St. Joseph Metuchen 47, No. 6 Neptune 46

Junior Jared Kimbrough scored 20 points and grabbed 11 boards to put Neptune (10-6) in position to hand St. Joe's Metuchen its first loss, but the Falcons (17-0) rallied to send the game into overtime and beat the Scarlet Fliers to remain undefeated.

South Brunswick 53, Manchester 35

Junior  L.J. Robinson scored 12 points to creep closer to the 1,000-point mark for his career, but the Hawks (6-10) could not keep up with the Vikings (14-2). Robinson is now 21 points shy of the milestone and will try to hit the mark Tuesday against Lakewood.

No. 9 Central 54, Ridge 49

Senior Maks Gruszecki scored a game-high 26 points and the Golden Eagles (15-2) outlasted the Red Devils (6-11) for their eighth consecutive win. Gruszecki shot 12-for-12 from the free-throw line, including 6-for-6 in the fourth quarter.

Senior Denis Corbin added 12 points and 12 rebounds and senior Zion Hardy pitched in 10 points, six assists and five steals for Central, which overcome a 21-12 first-quarter deficit. Ridge hit its first five three-point attempts of the game.

North Brunswick 53, Toms River South 46

Senior Matt Shiffer scored 12 points and junior Jake Regan added 11, but the Indians (4-10) fell short in a loss to the Raiders (9-7).

Toms River East 72, Atlantic Tech 43

Junior Jack Goodall scored a game-high 23 points and the Raiders (4-10) rolled to a win over Atlantic Tech (1-16). Junior Nick Shortino added 15 points for Toms River East, while junior Brad Brush grabbed 13 rebounds and Nick Silvia hauled in 11.

No. 5 Toms River North 71, Wildwood Catholic 67 (OT)

Senior Jaden Rhoden scored 18 points to go with 14 rebounds and six assists as the Mariners (17-1) outlasted the Crusaders (7-5) in overtime for their 12th straight win. Rhoden found both Travis Holland and Eliot Daks for open layups that gave Toms River North the lead - Holland in the final minute of regulation and Daks with a little more than a minute left in overtime.

Senior Mike Nyisztor added 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists while senior Sean O'Donnell chipped in 17 points off the bench on five three-pointers. Holland also finished with nine points.

 

Jeff Coney Classic

At Rancocas Valley

Haddonfield 49, Lakewood 42

Junior Zyheir Jones scored 12 points but the Piners (10-6) fell to the Bulldogs (13-2) at the Coney Classic.
