Highland 67, Donovan Catholic 61

Junior Jethro Moll scored 17 points, but the Griffins (8-5) came up short against Gabe Villegas (24 points) and the Tartans (11-2). Junior Matt Melon added 14 points and senior Anthony Silvestrone scored 12 for Donovan Catholic.

No. 9 Central 57, Colonia 37

Senior Denis Corbin scored 23 points and pulled in 10 rebounds to lead the Golden Eagles (12-2) past the Patriots (5-9) in the second game at the Coaches vs. Cancer Benefit at Central. Senior Maks Gruszecki also poured in 18 points for the hosts.

Allentown 59, Manchester 45

Senior L.J. Robinson scored 16 points and freshman Jakari Spence added 10 but the Hawks (5-8) fell to the Redbirds (5-8).

Howell 60, Old Bridge 47

Junior Eddie Morales scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Rebels (4-9) topped the Knights (9-6). Senior Jordan Jones added 14 points and six assists, senior Tyler Hoops scored 10 points and sophomore Matt Ganter chipped in eight.

No. 4 Toms River North 61, Woodbridge 57

Senior Jaden Rhoden scored 24 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead the Mariners (14-1) to a win over the Barrons (10-2). Senior Darrion Carrington added 12 points and six assists while senior Mike Nyisztor contributed 10 points and nine rebounds in the win.

 

Non-Division

Barnegat 73, Henry Hudson 63

Junior Mike Revello scored a game-high 27 points and the Bengals (9-4) pulled away for a win over the Admirals (1-12). Senior David Orozco added 15 points on five three-pointers while junior Carson Francisco chipped in 11 points for Barnegat.

Senior Tom Fennell led Henry Hudson with 21 points and sophomore Jay Anthony also scored 20 in a losing cause. Admirals senior Matt Going also pumped in 16 points.

Brick 54, Monmouth 50 (OT)

Sophomore Shane Williams scored 15 points to go with 15 rebounds and the Green Dragons (8-5) outlasted the Falcons (2-11) in overtime. Junior Dan Venezia added 13 points and five rebounds for Brick.

No. 7 Marlboro 62, Manasquan 54

Senior P.J. Ringel scored a game-high 25 points - including 10 in the fourth quarter - and the Mustangs (9-4) surged past the Warriors (10-4). Ringel also added six rebounds, four assists and five steals in the win.

Sophomore Dylan Kaufman added 15 points for Marlboro, which went on an 11-0 run that spanned the final two minutes of the third and the first three-plus minutes of the fourth quarter. That burst turned a 42-41 deficit into a 53-43 lead for Marlboro.

Senior Devin Jensen scored 21 points to lead Manasquan, but did not score during the fourth quarter. Mustangs junior Dan Weiss spent most of the game matched up with Jensen and also managed eight points of his own.

Manasquan senior Brian Paturzo returned from a left ankle injury that sidelined him since a Dec. 22 loss against Long Branch. He scored four points in his return, while senior Seamus Hogan gave the Warriors 15 points and nine rebounds.

Middletown North 70, No. 6 Point Beach 66

Sophomore Rob Higgins scored 20 points and dished out five assists as the Lions (8-6) held off a fourth-quarter charge by the Garnet Gulls (9-5) to secure the key inter-divisional road win. Junior Dave Campbell also chipped in 16 points and 13 boards for Middletown North, which took a 52-38 lead into the fourth quarter only to watch the lead shrink to 66-64 by the final minute.

Junior Danny Frauenheim led Point Beach with a career-high 30 points. Point Beach has now dropped four straight games after running up a nine-game winning streaks - with the first three losses coming against No. 5 Rumson-Fair Haven, No. 2 Mater Dei, No. 1 Ranney.

Red Bank Catholic 45, St. John Vianney 41

Senior Terence Calandrillo scored a game-high 15 point and the Caseys (8-5) edged the Lancers (4-9). Freshman Charlie Gordinier also poured in 11 points, while senior Dan Dinneny also poured in 11 points to lead St. John Vianney.

Ocean 52, Shore 37

Junior Andrew Seager scored 15 points and freshman Jack Miller pitched in 14 to lead the Spartans (10-4) past the Blue Devils (4-8). Sophomore Kyle Koob led Shore with 17 points.

Colts Neck 72, Middletown South 48

Senior Brendan Clarke scored 25 points to go with six rebounds and the Cougars (8-5) coasted to a win over the Eagles (3-11). Junior Ben Bosland added 14 points, 10 boards and six assists for Colts Neck.

Junior Dave Gervase led Middletown South with 16 points, junior Ryan Purcell scored 11 and junior Nick Unrath poured in 10 in the loss.

Holmdel 62, Manalapan 45

Senior Nick Harris scored 18 points and the Hornets (5-6) ran away from the Braves (2-11). Senior Mike Simmuro added 15 points and junior Tim Zhou scored 11 for Holmdel.

Junior Matan Zucker led Manalapan with 13 points and freshman Ryan Knorr poured in 12 in the loss.

 

Non-Conference

Southern 65, Cedar Creek 44

Senior Mark Valeriani scored a game-high 19 points and the Rams (4-11) upended the winless Pirates (0-13). Junior Jake DuBois added 15 points, five boards and six assists for Southern while junior Thomas Foster chipped in 10 points and five rebounds in the win.

St. Joseph Metuchen 46, Lakewood 40

Senior Adi Palmer and junior Kevin Dent each scored 13 points, but the Falcons (14-0) turned back the Piners (9-5) for the second time this season to remain unbeaten. Palmer also hauled in 10 rebounds.

CBA 76, Marist 47

Sophomore Josh Cohen scored a game-high 21 points and the Colts (9-5) cruised to a win over the Royal Knights (6-6). Sophomore Stephen Braunstein added 14 points, junior Nolan Madden dropped 10 and sophomore Robbie Kennedy netted nine for CBA.
