Class A North

Neptune 51, No. 4 Colts Neck 43

Senior Scott Fields scored a team-high 17 points and the Scarlet Fliers stormed past the Cougars with a strong second half to cap a challenging stretch of four games in eight days.

Senior Jared Kimbrough added 12 points, six rebounds and two blocks while junior Dwaine Jones chipped in 11 points and six rebounds for Neptune, which went 2-2 since last Saturday with close losses to Ocean and CBA and wins over Manalapan and Colts Neck.

Senior Dan Gaines led Colts Neck with a game-high 21, but was the only Cougar to reach double-figure scoring.

 

Class A Central

No. 9 Matawan 57, Raritan 51

Senior Reggie Tawiah led a balanced scoring effort with 15 points and the Huskies beat the Rockets for another hard-fought A Central win.

Senior Ramon Estrada poured in 14 points and senior Mike Dunne added 13 points and seven points for Matawan.

Senior Zach Mojica, who hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer to beat Red Bank on Friday night, led Raritan with 16 points. Junior Chris Marten also scored 12 points in the loss.

 

Class A South

Southern 56, Jackson Memorial 42

Junior Vinnie Deck scored 24 points and added five steals to lead the Rams to a win over the Jaguars. Senior Thomas Foster also chipped in 14 points and six rebounds for Southern.

Senior Alex Cabrera led Jackson Memorial with 17 points and junior Tommy Mitchell pitched in 10 in defeat.

Central 49, Toms River South 48

Pinelands 46, Donovan Catholic 33

Junior Andrew Schulz scored 22 points and the Wildcats rolled past the Griffins despite missing junior and leading scorer Anthony Diaz, who sustained an ankle injury in Thursday night's win over Lacey.

Sophomore Ryan Skeie added nine points for Pinelands, while senior Anthony Silvestrone led Donovan Catholic with 12 points.

Lakewood 56, Jackson Liberty 28

Senior Kevin Dent scored a game-high 22 points and sophomores Omari Barksdale and Ryan Savoy combined for 26 to help the Piners hammer the Lions.

Barksdale finished with 15 points and Savoy posted 11 points, six rebounds and three blocks.

Junior Daniel Sofield led Jackson Liberty with 15 points and is now 26 away from 1,000 for his career.

 

Non-Division

Toms River East 70, St. John Vianney 66

Sophomore Mike Goodall scored 21 points and shot 6-for-10 from beyond the three-point arc to help rally the Raiders (5-5) to a win over the Lancers (4-8).

Senior Nick Silvia added 17 points and six rebounds for Toms River East and sophomore Ryan Goodall pitched in 14 points and eight assists in the win.

Senior Chris Mikos led St. John Vianney with a game-high 25 points and senior Zach Moran poured in 17 in defeat.

Point Boro 43, Brick Memorial 29

Senior Connor Costigan scored 15 points and the Panthers shut down the Mustangs. Sophomore Sam Young scored eight points for Point Boro and junior Matt Bernstein also scored eight to lead Brick Memorial.

Wall 88, Brick 86

Three Wall players scored at least 20 points, led by sophomore Quinn Calabrese, and the Crimson Knights outlasted the Green Dragons in a shootout.

Senior Andy Lenneper poured in 23 points and senior Steve Geis netted 20 in the win, 13 of which came from the free-throw line. Freshman Pat Lacey also logged 12 points for Wall.

Junior Shane Williams led Brick with 26 points and 13 rebounds while junior Jalen Jackson threw in 19 points and seven assists in a losing effort.

Ocean 61, Freehold Boro 26

Senior Andrew Seager scored 21 points to go with six boards and the Spartans cruised to their fifth straight win. Sophomore Jack Miller contributed 15 points and eight assists for Ocean.

Senior Ashante Worthy led Freehold Boro with nine points.

No. 3 Rumson-Fair Haven 54, No. 8 Point Beach 50

Junior Jackson McCarthy scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help the Bulldogs fight off the Garnet Gulls in a meeting of two Shore Sports Network Top 10 teams.

Junior Ian O'Connor added 13 points and eight boards for Rumson and senior Elijah McAllister contributed 10 points, seven rebounds and four blocks for the Bulldogs, who again played without senior sharp-shooter Jack Solano due to a broken orbital bone over his left eye.

Senior Dannny Fraeunheim led Point Beach with 18 points and eight assists, including 16 points in the second half. Senior Trevor Covey threw in 14 points and senior Josh Yates hit three three-pointers for nine points in the loss.

 

Non-Conference

No. 7 Toms River North 66, Bayonne 36

Senior Travis Holland scored 16 points and hauled in eight rebounds to lead the Mariners to a rout of the Bees.

Sophomore Jakari Spence added 14 points and six assists while senior Holden Petrick posted 10 points, four rebounds and four assists in his return from a near-two-week absence stemming from an ankle injury.
