Even when its top scorer has a slow scoring night, the Rumson-Fair Haven boys basketball team is a hard train to slow down, as the Bulldogs showed Monday night.

Senior Jackson McCarthy led the way with 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead Rumson - the No. 4 team in the Shore Sports Network Top 10 - to a 64-43 win over No. 9 Holmdel Monday for the Bulldogs' fifth straight win.

Senior Ian O'Connor poured in a modest 10 points, but grabbed 14 rebounds to back up his senior teammate. O'Connor entered the game averaging better than 22 points per game and is currently 40 points shy of 1,000 for his career.

Rumson was in control from the start and built a 33-12 lead by halftime. The Bulldogs inched the lead up to 49-25 heading into the fourth and cruised to the finish line.

Junior Jack Giamanco led Holmdel with eight points.
