TOMS RIVER - Donovan Catholic stunned Lakewood once already this season, but the eight-time defending division champion Piners were ready for the rematch.

Junior Dorian Vaughn scored 19 points and grabbed seven boards as the Piners avenged a home loss to the Griffins by winning at Donovan Catholic Monday, 58-45.

Senior Adi Palmer also pitched in 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists for Lakewood, which kept pace with Point Boro as the Piners pursue a ninth straight season with at least a share of a division championship.

Lakewood will face Barnegat on Tuesday and wrap up their divisoin schedule with Lacey on Thursday. Point Boro will travel to Donovan Catholic on Thursday and will host Lacey on Saturday in its final divisional game.

Junior Anthony Silvestrone led Donovan Catholic Monday with 12 points and junior Joe San Fillippo pitched in 10 in the loss. The Griffins are still mathematically alive in the division race, but would need to win Thursday against Point Boro while also getting losses from Lakewood against Barnegat and Lacey and another Lacey win over Point Boro.
