TOMS RIVER - Like its opponents from Brick Township High School Thursday night, the Toms River East boys basketball team has been waiting quite some time to be a winner once again. With another sparkling Raiders performance Thursday night, it's hard to envision that wins were ever hard to come by.

Junior Phil Lingat scored a game-high 22 points and Toms River East once again dominated a Class A South opponent, this time handing the Green Dragons their first division loss of the season, 83-63.

Senior Ryan West poured in 15 points and senior Carlos Lingat netted 12 in the win. Seniro Bailey Engelhard also pitched in nine points and eight rebounds for Toms River East.

Toms River East began the second half on a 15-0 run and scored 27 in the quarter to seize control of the game. The Raiders limited Brick's top two scorers - Noah Buono and Kenny Buell - to a combined nine points on two field goals. Buell (19 points per game) and Buon (17.2) combined to average 36.2 points per game entering Thursday.

Junior Brandon Williams and freshman Shane Williams each scored 13 points to lead Brick.
