Senior KaShaun Barnes scored 20 points to take home tournament MVP honors and the Hawks (4-1) knocked off the top-seeded Jaguars (4-1) for their first ever WOBM Classic championship in the 30th year of the tournament. Barnes averaged 20 points per game over the four games of the tournament.

Sophomore Jordan Torney added 13 points and sophomore Shavar Reynolds had 11 in the win. Jackson Memorial senior Eric Carter led the Jaguars with a game-high 23 points.

(3) Toms River South 66, (5) Freehold Township 54

Junior Tymere Berry scored a game-high 19 points and sophomore Tyler Fall added 16 to lead the Indians (4-1) to a win over the Patriots (3-2) in the third place game of the tournament. Junior Tyree Wilson led Freehold Township with 12 points.

(1) Shore 76, (2) Manasquan 56

All five Shore starters scored in double-figures and the Blue Devils (3-2) beat the Warriors (3-1) to capture their first ever championship at the Albert Martin Memorial Buc Classic. Junior Dan Largey led Shore with 16 points, junior Kevin Bloodgood had 15, senior Dan Pillari 13, junior Jack Byrne 12 and senior Matt Cosentino 12 for Shore. Pillari earned tournament MVP honors and Bloodgood was named to the all-tournament first team.

Senior Tommy Toole led Manasquan with 14 points, while senior Jack Fay had 12 and sophomore Ryan Jensen posted 12 points and nine rebounds.

Third Place Game

(4) Middletown North 45, (3) Colts Neck 34

Dylan Frawley and Brian Esser led a balanced Middletown North attack with eight points each and the Lions (3-1) beat the division-rival Cougars (2-2) to finish third at the Buc Classic. Frawley also grabbed 10 rebounds while Esser pulled down seven. Junior Sean O'Reilly led Colts Neck with a game-high 14 points.

Fifth Place Game

(5) Red Bank 53, (6) Monmouth 41

Juniors Anthony Mitchell and Tyler Christie each scored 10 points and the Bucs (3-2) rode a balanced scoring attack past the Falcons (1-3) in the fifth-place game. Sophomore Sadiq Palmer added nine points and was named to the All-Tournament team. Senior Dan Curtis led Monmouth with a game-high 21 points.

Seventh Place Game

(8) Freehold 39, (7) Roselle 36

Senior Donald Allen scored 13 points and the Colonials (1-3) edged the Rams to give first-year coach Jesse Ryan his first career victory.

Matawan 49, Tottenville (N.Y.) 44

Junior Jason Dunne scored 22 points, grabbed six rebounds and grabbed six assists to earn tournament MVP honors and lead the Huskies (4-1) to a championship in their home tournament. Joe Piscopo added 13 points in the win.

Manalapan 57, Mount St. Michael’s 53

Senior Matt Colella scored 23 points and the Braves (2-2) won their second straight game after an 0-2 start by beating Mount St. Michael's.

Seniors James Sofield and Mike Healy scored 15 points each, but the Lions (3-2) fell to Hornets in the Score at the Shore Final.

Third Place Game

(2) Southern 71, (4) Oakcrest 69

Senior Mike Gesicki scored a game-high 26 points and junior Jake Logue added 23 to lead the Rams (2-1) to a win over the Falcons in the third place game.

Fifth Place Game

(7) Howell 64, (5) Pinelands 57 (OT)

The Rebels rallied from a 17-point third-quarter deficit to send the game into overtime and junior Will Koscis scored six of his 18 points during overtime as the Rebels (2-2) came back to beat the Wildcats (1-3). Koscis also grabbed 10 rebounds, while junior Aaron Trimble added 14 points, eight rebounds, five assists and five steals. Senior Donovan Griffith led Howell with 19 points.

Junior Milanj Coursey led Pinelands with 19 points and sophomore Luke Stambaugh added 16.

 

Neptune Holiday Jubilee
At Neptune

Long Branch 73, Marist 72

Senior Terrell Cox poured in 30 points and the Green Wave held on to beat Marist to finish 2-1 at the Holiday Jubilee. Senior Hassan Foster added 14 points and eight rebounds and also stole inbounds pass with five seconds left to seal the win. Kenneth Barrow chipped in 11 points and four steals off the bench.

Seton Hall Prep 67, Neptune 59 (OT)

Shakeem Richardson scored 25 points, but the Pirates outlasted the Scarlet Fliers (2-2) in overtime for their second win in as many games at the Jubilee.

Senior Matt Farrell scored 18 points to go with seven assists and three steals and the Garnet Gulls pulled away for a win over the Patriots to win the Butch Kowal Tournament and remain unbeaten (3-0). Senior Dom Uhl added 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists and five blocks, while senior Jeff Bryant had 14 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks. Senior Noah Yates also chipped in eight rebounds and five assists.

Rancocas Valley 51, Lakewood 39

Maurice Diawara scored 11 points to lead the Piners (3-1), who dropped their first game of the season in the ESCIT final to the Red Devils. Lakewood jumped out to a 13-6 lead after the first quarter, but Rancocas Valley outscored the Piners 20-11 in the second quarter and put the game away with a 16-7 fourth-quarter run.
