St. Rose 51, Holmdel 50

Senior Dan Borner scored a game-high 21 points and the Purple Roses (2-1) edged the Hornets (1-1). Borner, junior Nolan Slattery (17 points) and senior Matt Skea (10) combined for 48 of the Purple Roses 51 points.

Senior Gerard Nocera and junior Jeff Harris each scored 20 points to lead Holmdel.

Red Bank 64, St. John Vianney 45

Junior center Moses Birch led a balanced scoring attack with 12 points and the Bucs (1-1) rolled to their first win of the season by beating the Lancers (1-1). Senior Jesse Mack added 10 points for Red Bank, while sophomore Zach Howarth led St. John Vianney with a game-high 15 points.

Union 61, Matawan 46

Chris Tawiah scored a game-high 21 points, but the Huskies (1-1) fell to the Farmers (2-1). Jason Dunne added 11 points for Matawan, while Emmanuel Kema led Union with 16 points.

Fair Lawn 51, Marlboro 46

Justin Markowitz scored 20 points and nine rebounds, but the Mustangs (0-2) came up short against the Cutters (1-1). Carlis Salazar led Fair Lawn with 16 points on three 3-pointers.

Wall 48, Middlesex 38

Ryan Janeczek led three Wall players in double-figures with 14 points and the Crimson Knights (1-1) beat the Blue Jays (1-1) for their first win of the season. Trent Mitchell scored 12 points and Brendan Barcas added 11 in the win.

Hightstown 65, Jackson Liberty 51

Senior Mike Healy scored more than half of the Lions points in Jackson Liberty's loss to the Rams (1-1). James Sofield added 14 points for Jackson Liberty (1-1).
