Class A North

Marlboro 46, Howell 41

Senior Matt Ringel scored 15 points to lead the Mustangs (4-4, 2-3) to a win over the Rebels (5-5, 2-3). Senior Gino Palummo matched Ringel with 15 points to lead Howell.

Manalapan 52, Freehold Boro 33

Zach Misischia scored 10 of his game-high 17 points in the fourth quarter to go with 10 rebounds and the Braves (6-2, 3-2) outscored the Colonials (3-6, 1-4) 36-6 in the second half to overcome an 11-point halftime deficit. Senior Mike Venezia added 16 points and five assists for Manalapan, which trailed 27-16 at halftime.

Markee Gill led Freehold with 10 points.

No. 5 Freehold Twp. 79, Middletown South 55

Tyree Wilson scored a team-high 15 points and 10 different Freehold Township players scored at least a point as the Patriots (7-3, 3-2) routed the Eagles (4-5, 2-3) for their fifth straight win. Freehold Township stormed out to a 28-9 lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back.

Dan Saunders chipped in 14 points, while Kyle Czajkwoski added 10 points, four rebounds and four assists. Jason Czajkowski contributed nine points, eight rebounds, six assists and three steals in the win.

Alex Mrusek led Middletown South with 18 points and Kevin Naughton chipped in 15 for the Eagles, which snapped a three-game winning streak.

No. 1 CBA 77, Middletown North 54

Junior Pat Andree led four CBA scorers in double-figures with 19 points and the Colts (7-3, 5-0) beat the Lions to remain unbeaten within Class A North. Jack Laffey chipped in 16 points, while Shaun Belbey poured in 14 and Jack McGuire added 12.

Sophomore Jules Calhoun led Middletown North with 14 points, while senior Dylan Frawley had 13 and freshman Dave Campbell added 11.

 

Class A Central

Raritan 65, St. John Vianney 64

Senior Chris Nicholl scored on a lay-up with 2.8 seconds left to lift the Rockets (6-4, 2-2) to a last-second win over the Lancers (5-5, 1-3). Nicholl finished with 17 points, while junior Joe Strand led Raritan with 23 points.

Junior Grant Goode scored 23 points to lead St. John Vianney and classmate Zach Howarth chipped in 17.

Shore 47, No. 6 Manasquan 40

Senior Kevin Bloodgood scored 16 points and Dan Largey added 11 as the Blue Devils (7-2, 3-1) outscored the Warriors (8-2, 3-1) 18-4 in the fourth quarter to pick up a pivotal Class A Central road win.

Jack Sheehan led Manasquan with 15 points and Ryan Jensen chipped in nine points and 14 rebounds for the Warriors, who played without starters Aidan McMenaman (knee) and Kyle Bradshaw for the second straight game. Bradshaw will be eligible to return Thursday against Holmdel after serving a two-game suspension for an ejection on Friday.

No. 7 Rumson-Fair Haven 63, Monmouth 42

Senior Brendan Barry scored 25 points and added seven steals to spark the Bulldogs (7-2, 4-1) to a win over the Falcons (0-9, 0-5). Jack Luby and Alex Geiger each added eight points apiece for Rumson, while Matt Mooney led Monmouth with 10.

 

Class B North

Ocean 50, No. 9 Neptune 47

Senior Taj Shomo buried a 3-pointer as time expired and the Spartans (2-6, 1-4) rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to stun the Scarlet Fliers (3-6, 0-5). Shomo finished with a game-high 22 points and junior Jake Talarico added 10 in Ocean's first Class B North win of the season.

Senior Micah Kerr scored 21 points to lead Neptune.

No. 8 Colts Neck 54, No. 3 Red Bank Catholic 39

Junior Lloyd Daniels scored 16 points and handed out five assists and the Cougars (7-1, 5-0) shut down the Caseys (7-3, 4-2) to remain unbeaten in Class B North. Chris O'Reilly added 10 points for Colts Neck, which held Red Bank Catholic to 4-for-22 shooting from behinfd the three-point line.

Liam Byrne led Red Bank Catholic with 13 points and hit three of those four threes.

Wall 60, Matawan 52

Senior Trent Mitchell scored 21 points and combined with classmates Brendan Barcas and Ryan Janeczek to score 51 points as the Crimson Knights (6-2, 4-1) won their fifth straight by handing the Huskies (4-5, 2-3) their fourth straight loss.

Barcas netted 16 points for Wall and Janeczek poured in 14 for Wall. Senior Joe Piscopo led Matawan with 15 points.

 

Class B Central
