Class A Central

Rumson-Fair Haven 71, Raritan 35

Senior Jack Herrmann scored 23 points and the Bulldogs (10-7, 5-6) cruised to a win over the Rockets (4-15, 2-9) in Class A Central.

 

Class A South

Lacey 54, Brick 46

Junior Chris Iapicco scored 16 points and Anthony Talarico added 12 points to help the Lions (8-7, 7-4) get past the Green Dragons (1-16, 0-11). Junior Brian Oehme led Brick with 14 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks and three steals, while junior Dan Berg also poured in 14 points on four 3-pointers.

Brick Memorial 53, Southern 51

Junior Aaron Scheiderman led a balanced scoring effort with 13 points and the Mustangs (9-7, 7-5) rallied from a 14-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter to stun the Rams (8-7, 6-4). Scheiderman went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line in the fourth and junior teammate Scott White (11 points) went 7-for-8 as the Mustangs shot 13-for-14 from the line in the fourth quarter as a team.

Senior Mike Basile added six points, 11 rebounds and six steals while drawing the primary assignment on 6'6" senior Mike Gesicki. Gesicki finished with a game-high 20 points but did not score in the fourth quarter.

Toms River South 59, Toms River East 43

Senior Marquis Davis scored 21 points and added four steals to help lead the Indians (12-5, 8-4) to a win over the Raiders (7-10, 2-9). Senior Darius Hart chipped in 14 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks, while junior Khaleel Green added 14 points and five assists for Toms River South.

Senior C.J. Hirschy led Toms River East with 13 points and sophomore Ryan West pitched in 10 in the loss.

 

Class B North

Freehold 46, Ocean 35

Freshman Elijah Barnes continued his strong play with 19 points, nine rebounds and six blocks and the Colonials (4-13, 3-8) beat the Spartans (7-10, 3-7) in Class B North. Senior Glen Bates added 16 points and nine rebounds, while junior Josh Dixon chipped in seven points and five assists for Freehold.

Senior Chris Seager led Ocean with 13 points.

 

Class B Central

No. 1 Point Beach 66, Ranney 45

Senior Dom Uhl scored 19 points and the Garnet Gulls (18-0, 11-0) beat the Panthers (6-10, 2-10) without senior point guard Matt Farrell, who was under the weather, according to coach Nick Catania.

Senior Noah Yates scored 15 points and junior Chris Schifano chipped in 12 points for Point Beach.

Keyport 76, Henry Hudson 60

Senior Alex Thomsen poured in 31 points and the Red Raiders (11-4, 9-3) rolled to a win over the Admirals (6-11, 4-9). Sophomore Trevor Alvarez scored 14 points and sophomore Jeff Sheard added 13 for Keyport.

Senior Jaxon Terrell led Henry Hudson with 21 points and senior Jake Link posted 13 points in the loss.

St. Rose 59, Mater Dei Prep 35

Senior Dan Borner scored 21 points and the Purple Roses (13-4, 10-2) coasted to a win over the Seraphs (7-7, 6-5). Senior Bobby Hendrickson added 11 points in the win.

Senior Sam Miles led Mater Dei with 14 points while junior teammate Tysaun White added 12.

 

Class B South

Manchester 69, Barnegat 53

Senior KaShaun Barnes pumped in 32 points and the Hawks (12-5, 6-4) topped the Bengals (0-17, 0-11) for their fourth straight win. Senior Darius Barlow contributed 16 points in the win.

Sophomore Nick Camarato led Barnegat with 18 points and junior Kyle Morris chipped in 14 points and eight rebounds in defeat.

Central 80, Jackson Liberty 61

Junior Evan Lang led four Central players in double-figures with 21 points and the Golden Eagles (5-10, 4-7) stormed past the Lions (9-10, 5-6). Junior John Forrester (17 points), sophomore Riley Collins (14) and senior Stefano Minale (12) all reached double-figures as well for Central.

Senior Mike Healy led Jackson Liberty with a game-high 24 points.

No. 5 Lakewood 58, Monsignor Donovan 50

Sophomore Amir Tyler led a balanced lineup with 12 points and the Piners (15-3, 11-0) held off a fourth-quarter charge to beat the Griffins (11-6, 7-4) and clinch at least a share of the Class B South championship. Tyler scored 11 of his points in the first hald, while senior Dan Niblack scored eight of his 10 points before halftime.

Lakewood led 50-37 early in the fourth quarter before Monsignor Donovan put together an 11-0 run to pull within 50-48. Sophomore Naquese Joshua hit two free throws and a key floater in the lane to push the lead to 54-50 and seniors Maurice Diawara and Ben Watson (11 points) each hit a pair of free throws to put the game away.

Senior Tom Cerami scored seven of his game-high 15 points in the fourth quarter to help Monsignor Donovan rally.
