Class A Central

Rumson-Fair Haven 84, St. John Vianney 51

Brendan Barry scored 37 points to become the third Shore Conference junior to reach the 1,000-point mark this season as the Bulldogs routed the Lancers to clinch a share of the Class A Central championship. The loss also eliminates St. John Vianney from Shore Conference Tournament consideration.

Barry finished the night with exactly 1,000 points and also added seven rebounds, five assists and four steals. Alex Geiger also added 23 points, including 19 in the first half on five three-pointers. Thomas Famulary chipped in 10 points in the win, while Zach Howarth led St. John Vianney with 14 points.

 

Class A South

No. 3 Toms River North 59, Jackson Memorial 58

Mike Nyisztor hit a game-winning three-pointer with 12 seconds left to give the Mariners a win over the Jaguars, clinching Toms River North's second Class A South championship in the last three seasons.

Jordan Craig led Toms River North with 21 points, 12 rebounds and seven blocks while Nyisztor and Ted Thelemaque scored 12 points each in the win.

Chris Hawryluk scored 17 points to lead Jackson Memorial while Eddie Landi added 14 in defeat.

No. 6 Southern 53, Lacey 45

Senior Jake Logue scored 27 points to help carry the Rams to a win over the Lions to close out their Class A South season. Conor Davies led Lacey with 13 points.

 

Class B North

Matawan 61, Ocean 41

Joe Piscopo hit five three-pointers and scored 20 points and the Huskies won for the fifth time in six games by beating the Spartans. Jason Dunne added 15 points and Devon Spann chipped in eight for Matawan.

 

Class B Central

Point Beach 65, Henry Hudson 37

Seniors Jesse Hill and Ryan Sheehan scored 12 points each and the Garnet Gulls rode a balanced scoring effort to a win over the Admirals that clinches a share of the Class B Central title for Point Beach for the third straight season.

Trevor Covey and Mike Rice each added 11 points for Point Beach.

 

Class B South

Central 72, Donovan Catholic 64

Evan Lang scored a game-high 27 points and the Golden Eagles beat the Griffins to earn a season split with their Class B South rivals. Jaden Rhoden added 14 points and Elijah Barnes chipped in 10, 12 rebounds and three blocks for Central.

James Fata led Donovan Catholic with 17 points, while Michael Boice chipped in 14 and Riley Collins scored 13 in the loss.

No. 2 Lakewood 71, Manchester 52

Amir Tyler scored 25 points and the Piners pulled away to beat the Hawks and complete their second straight undefeated season in Class B South. Lakewood has now won 38 straight divisional games.

Sean Barksdale added 15 points and Ryszon Barnes chipped in 12 in the win.

Pinelands 56, Point Boro 42

Junior Dave Lunn scored 15 points and the Wildcats beat the Panthers to set a single-season school-record 12th game this year. Zach Wiatrowski added 11 points and Luke Stabaugh chipped in 10 for Pinelands. John Venturi scored 11 to lead Point Boro.

Jackson Liberty 53, Barnegat 51

Senior J'Son Clark hit a three-pointer as time expired and the Lions stunned the Bengals, eliminating Barnegat from Shore Conference Tournament contention.

 

Non-Conference

Keyport 77, Souther River 62

Junior Travis Alvarez scored 30 points and junior Zach Ochs poured in 23 to lead the Red Raiders to a win over the Rams, the third straight win for Keyport.
