Class A South

Southern 63, Jackson Memorial 45

Senior Thomas Foster scored 21 points and hauled in 11 rebounds to lead the Rams (7-6, 5-3) past the Jaguars (2-10, 1-6). Junior Johnny Tilton added 10 points and four blocks while junior Vinnie Deck chipped in nine points and five assists for Southern.

Junior Jayson Lee led Jackson Memorial with 10 points.

Toms River East 49, Brick Memorial 46

Senior Zyaire Dorn scored 12 points to go with six rebounds and three assists as the Raiders (7-6, 5-3) rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit to upend the Mustangs (7-6, 5-3) and sweep the season series.

Sophomore Mike Goodall poured in a game-high 14 points on 3-for-5 shooting from beyond the three-point arc. Senior Nick Silvia added nine points and 10 rebounds while sophomore Ryan Goodall pitched in seven points, nine rebounds and three assists for Toms River East.

Senior Anthony Argondizza led Brick Memorial with 14 points and junior Matt Bernstein added 10 in the loss.

Brick 64, Central 60 (OT)

Juniors Shane Williams and Jalen Jackson combined for 54 of Brick's 64 points, leading the Green Dragons (8-3, 5-2) to an overtime win over the Golden Eagles (3-10, 2-6). Williams scored a game-high 28 points to go with 11 rebounds and Jackson posted 26 points and nine assists in the win.

Freshman Marvin Goodwine, Jr. led four Central players in double-figure scoring with 17 points. Junior Nick Altieri added 13 points, senior Xavier Jackson scored 12 and senior Tom Ruscitti pitched in 11 in a losing cause.

Toms River North 54, Toms River South 17

Senior Holden Petrick scored a game-high 15 points and the Mariners (11-2, 7-0) nearly held the Indians (1-10, 0-7) scoreless for the entire second half in a win over their crosstown rivals.

Toms River South went scoreless for the first 14-plus minutes of the second half before  scoring its only two points of the half with under two minutes to play.

Senior Travis Holland added 10 points and eight rebounds and senior Elliot Daks added eight points and eight boards for Toms River North, which played without sophomore starting forward Najae Hallenback due to an minor ankle injury, according to coach Rory Caswell.

 

Class B Central

No. 2 Mater Dei Prep 70, Keansburg 24

Senior Kenny Jones scored a game-high 23 points and the Seraphs (10-2, 7-1) rolled to a win over the Titans (3-7, 2-5).

Senior Kyle Cardaci added 16 points, sophomore Jamir Watkins added 11 and senior Adam Afifi pitched in 10 for Mater Dei Prep.

Senior Danny Vital led Keansburg with seven points.

Asbury Park 70, Henry Hudson 50

Senior Donte Abrams led a balanced scoring effort with 14 points  and the Blue Bishops (7-6, 4-4) topped the Admirals (1-8, 0-5) for their fourth straight win.

Junior Jay Anthony led Henry Hudson with a game-high 20 points.

St. Rose 62, Keyport 48

Seniors Dave Calloway and John Crowley scored 17 points each to lead the Purple Roses (6-5, 4-3) to a win over the Red Raiders (2-10, 1-7). Sophomore John Beattie added 13 points for St. Rose.

Sophomore C.J. Johnson led Keyport with 15 points and freshman Troy Alvarez chipped in 10 in defeat.

 

Class B South

Lakewood 54, Point Boro 33

Senior Jyheir Jones lead an all-around team effort with 15 points and the Piners (7-5, 5-3) slammed the Panthers (9-2, 6-1), handing Point Boro its first loss in B South while snapping its six-game winning streak.

Senior Kevin Dent also scored 13 points for Lakewood, which led 32-9 by halftime.

Sophomore Sam Young led Point Boro with 10 points.

Lacey 53, Manchester 32

Junior Carl Swensen scored 15 points and the Lions (5-6, 3-4) outlasted the Hawks (1-10, 1-6) to snap a three-game skid.

Junior Kevin O'Rourke added 11 points and sophomore Kalvin Kuhn chipped in 10 for Lacey.

Senior Jesse Devero led Manchester with seven points.

Barnegat 47, Pinelands 26

Senior Mike Revello scored a game-high 21 points and the Bengals (7-4, 3-3) stomped the Wildcats (7-5, 5-2) to put a stop to their five-game winning streak. Revello scored 13 points in the first half, including baskets to beat the buzzer to end both the first and second quarters.

Senior Carson Francisco also poured in 12 points for Barnegat.

Senior Caden Sundermann scored eight points to lead Pinelands, all of which came in the first five minutes of the first quarter. Sundermann took a shot to the face on a collision and missed the last 11 minutes of the first half.

Pinelands also played without junior Anthony Diaz due to an ankle injury that has sidelined him now for two weeks.

Donovan Catholic 52, Jackson Liberty 49

Senior Anthony Silvestrone scored a game-high 21 points and the Griffins (5-6, 4-4) held off the Lions (5-8, 2-6), who dropped their sixth straight.

Senior Joe San Fillipo added 16 points, five rebounds and five blocks for Donovan Catholic, which took control of the game with a 10-0 run over the end of the third quarter and into the fourth - turning a 37-32 deficit into a 42-37 lead.

Senior Kyle White led Jackson Liberty with 13 points, while junior Daniel Sofield added 12 and junior Takai Anderson threw in 10 in the loss.

 

Non-Division

Freehold Boro 60, Wall 49

Junior Jack Bisaha scored 16 points and the the Colonials (2-10) slowed down a Crimson Knights team (6-7) that had scored more than 80 points in three straight games, despite Wall senior Steve Geis reaching the 1,000-point plateau for his career with a 30-point effort.

Senior Ashante Worthy scored 14 points and junior Quincy Davis added 11 for Freehold Boro, which has wins over two B North programs in Wall and Middletown North.

Geis entered play Friday 24 points shy of his 1,000th point, a milestone he reached thanks to an average of 26.3 points per game. That average is second in the Shore Conference behind Rob Higgins of Middletown North and his 342 total points are the most of any player in the conference at this point in the season.
