Dave Emery, who led Shore Regional's boys basketball team to back-to-back 20-win seasons and a berth in a sectional final, stepped down after two seasons on Friday for personal reasons.

Emery led the Blue Devils to a 21-9 season this past winter, which included a run to the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group I final, where they battled the Shore Conference's No. 1 team, Point Beach, in a 67-61 loss. In his first season at Shore in 2012-13 after previously coaching at St. John Vianney, the Blue Devils finished 20-7 for their first 20-win season in recent memory.

Shore returns one of the Shore Conference's most experienced rosters next season, led by starters Jack Byrne, Kevin Bloodgood and Dan Largey, a trio of current juniors.
