ASBURY PARK - Freshman Bryan Antoine scored a career-high 39 points to go with five rebounds, seven assists and six steals to help lead the Ranney boys basketball team past Asbury Park, 86-62, Wednesday for its seventh straight win to open the season.

Wednesday marked the second time that Antoine eclipsed the 30-point mark in his young high school career. He is now averaging an even 26 points per game for the undefeated Panthers.

Antoine scored 16 of his points during a 32-17 Ranney run during the duration of the second quarter that sent the visitors to the locker room with a 49-35 halftime lead after Asbury Park (2-4, 2-2) led by one after one. Antoine also scored 11 points in the third quarter to help the Panthers (7-0, 4-0) open up a 73-48 lead heading to the fourth.

Freshman Scottie Lewis added 22 points, five rebounds and three blocks for Ranney while junior Sam Metzger chipped in seven points and nine rebounds in the win.

Junior Josmere Taylor scored 21 points to lead Asbury Park, while sophomore Ja'King Agostini added 13 and junior Christian Braggs added 11 in the loss.
