Junior running back Calvin Beaty and senior running back Aaron Mora each had a pair of touchdown runs and junior quarterback Anthony Brown threw for a career-high 225 yards and two touchdown passes as St. John Vianney rolled to a 42-13 win over Holmdel in Class A Central for its first 2-0 start in more than a decade.

Beaty ran for scores of 8 and 6 yards for the Lancers (2-0, 2-0), and Mora had touchdown runs of 3 and 15 yards as St. John Vianney rolled up 466 yards of total offense. Brown threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to senior wideout Dan Calabro and a 65-yard strike to junior Khalil Haskins, who also had a strong game on special teams. Haskins finished with six catches for 127 yards in the win.

Sophomore quarterback Aneesh Agrawal threw touchdown bombs of 68 and 43 yards, both to junior wideout Pete Savrides, in the loss for the Hornets (0-2, 0-2). Savrides now has five touchdown catches in two games after hauling in five catches for 146 yards in the loss.
