The first half of Point Beach's Division I-bound duo has made his college decision, as senior forward Dom Uhl announced on SNYtv on Friday that he has verbally committed to the University of Iowa.

The 6-foot-8 forward from Frankfurt, Germany, who transferred to Point Beach before last season, chose Iowa over Boston College and Temple among his finalists.

“It’s been tough,'' Uhl told SNY. "I like all three schools, they’ve been great. I just liked Coach [Fran] McCaffery a lot and I like the style of play, the facilities, everything.”

In his first season with the Garnet Gulls, he helped them win their first NJSIAA Group I title in history by averaging 10 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks per game.

Point Beach senior point guard Matt Farrell, who has multiple offers from mid-major programs, will announce his decision on Oct. 22.
