WEST LONG BRANCH - A Shore Conference staple and a first-timer took home Shore Conference championships Saturday as both the St. John Vianney girls and Mater Dei boys captured Shore Conference titles.

St. John Vianney beat Manasquan, 59-48, to win its first Shore Conference Tournament title since 2005. Kelly Campbell scored 16 points, grabbed six rebounds and handed out seven assists to lead the Lancers and senior Tina Lebron poured in 14 points behind three three-pointers in the win.

Mater Dei, meanwhile, stormed back from an 18-point deficit to shock Christian Brothers Academy, 50-43, to win its first ever SCT. The Seraphs trailed 36-18 with 1:12 left in the third quarter before outscoring CBA 32-7 over the final nine minutes.

Bryan Harris led Mater Dei with 14 points and six rebounds off the bench while senior NyQuan McCombs added 12 points and junior Elijah Barnes had 10 points and seven rebound.

Junior Marvin Pierre stole the ball and converted the go-ahead layup as he was fouled and hit the ensuing free throw to give the Seraphs a 44-41 lead with 40 seconds left.
