Ben Levine tossed a four-hit shutout and Michael Kuver went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBI to highlight a shutout win for the Braves (8-2, 3-2) over the Colonials (3-3, 2-3). Levin struck out seven, walked one and threw 100 pitches.

Giovanni Ciaccio was 2-for-3 with a triple, three runs scored and two RBI and Dan DeBlasio went 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBI in the win.

No. 1 CBA 7, Howell 5

Nick Hohenstein belted two home runs and finished 2-for-3 with three RBI to help guide the Colts (6-1, 4-1) to a win over the Rebels (4-3, 2-3).

Braedin Hunt was 2-for-3 with a double and pitched the last 1 2/3 innings to save the win for starter Joe Escandon.

Johnny Dudek, Tommy DiTullio and Andrea Dalatri were each 1-for-4 with a double, with Dudek driving in two and DiTullio knocking in one as well as scoring two. Jack Harnisch was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI and Matt Fitzsimmons also went 2-for-3.

Escandon allowed two runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two and throwing 81 pitches over four innings. Matt Barnes gave up three runs in 1 1/3 innings before passing the ball off to Hunt, who struck out three and walked three.

Kyle Brex went 2-for-2 with two runs scored, Jack Bearse was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Edwin Morales, Ryan Bearse and Ryan Gonzalez each finished 2-for-4 with a run scored. Bearse and Gonzalez also drove in a run apiece.

 

Class A Central

St. John Vianney 6, Raritan 5

Spencer Margulis hit a tie-breaking two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning and the Lancers (4-2, 4-1) handed the Rockets (5-2, 4-1) their first loss since opening day. Magulis finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBI and a pair of runs scored.

Logan Marter also went 3-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI while Chris Caragliano was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI for St. John Vianney. Nick Noto was also 2-for-3 with a run scored and Evan Perrette went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Marter struck out 10 over 5 2/3 innings and 111 pitches before leaving the game. He allowed three earned runs on seven hits and three walks. Brendan Martin earned the win by pitching the final 1 1/3 inning, during which he allowed one unearned run on one hit and struck out three on 34 pitches.

Dan Fiore went 3-for-4 with an RBI, Tyler Bruno was 2-for-3 with a double and Ryan Kasmer finished 2-for-4 to lead Raritan.

Josh Yates finished 2-for-3 with a double, three runs and two RBI, while Alec Glen went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI for Point Beach.

Chris Russo threw four innings and 90 pitches to earn the win. The senior left-hander allowed three runs on six hits and four walks while striking out six.

Justin Alessi went 2-for-3 with a run and a walk while Liam Riecks was 1-for-3 with two RBI for Keansburg.

Nick Marini fired a six-inning no-hitter and the Purple Roses (6-2, 6-0) coasted to a win over the Red Raiders (0-5, 0-5). The senior left-hander issued two walks and struck out nine Keyport batters while tossing 75 pitches.

Riley Maypother went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI to lead the offense.

Matt Pickus pitched six strong innings and the Lions (7-0, 6-0) topped the Wildcats (2-5, 2-3) to remain unbeaten on the season. Pickus scattered six hits, walked one and struck out five while allowing one earned run and throwing 72 pitches.

Nick DeCarlo pitched a perfect seventh inning with two strikeouts to close out the game.

Connor Keenan was 2-for-2 with two runs scored, Charlie Rudderow went 1-for-2 with a double and run scored, and Shane Hickey and Daniel Sofield each went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Anthony Diaz went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored while Sean O'Rourke knocked him in during a 1-for-3 game at the plate. Noah Dean took the loss on the mound, allowing three earned runs on five hits and five walks with seven strikeouts over five innings and 101 pitches.

 

Manchester 9, Lakewood 1

Jack Felipe went 2-for-3 with two of Manchester's five doubles and three RBI as the Hawks (6-2, 6-1) downed the Piners (2-5, 1-4). Nick Chiapisi was 2-for-3 with a double, a run and two RBI, while Evan Scala was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI for Manchester. Markel Hourigan was also 1-for-3 with a double.

Matt Chirico allowed one unearned run on three hits over six innings and 78 pitches. He struck out five and did not issue a walk before giving way to Jagger Karaska for the final frame.

Deion Crooks went 1-for-3 with a run scored while Juadae Rosario doubled to lead the Lakewood offense.
