Cristian Corcione knocked in a pair of runs with a single to back up starter Bryan Reed and help the Patriots (6-5, 5-3) beat the Scarlet Fliers (4-7, 3-5). Reed pitched five innings and allowed two earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts and no walks while throwing 55 pitches.
Andrew Beam was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Freehold Township and Nick Lodispoto also went 1-for-2 with an RBI for the Patriots.
Devon Furges drove in both Neptune runs on a two-run homer in the top of the fifth and Justin Tucker finished 2-for-3 in the loss.

Nick Straub delivered a game-winning RBI single with two out in the bottom of the seventh inning and the Cougars scored three runs in the final inning to walk off with a win over the Colts - their second win over CBA in the last eight days.
Straub's winning hit scored Jack Tirrell, who also drove in a run during Colts Neck's rally in the seventh. Tirrell's single drove in Hunter Boag, whose one-out single started the rally, and also scored courtesy runner Sam Christopher when a throw in to third base got away. Tirrell took second on the errant throw and scored on Straub's single to left-center field.
Matt Hawkins retired all six batters he faced to earn the win in relief.
Freehold Boro 4, Marlboro 2
Junior catcher Phil Marcantonio went 3-for-3 with a home run and drove in all four Freehold runs to carry the Colonials (7-4, 6-3) to a win over the Mustangs (5-8, 2-6).
Dan Chiusano pitched four innings to earn the win, allowing one unearned run on five hits and no walks while striking out two and throwing 64 pitches. Dane Della Valle tossed three hitless innings of relief to save the game, allowing just one unearned run and a walk while striking out a pair.
Jeremy Bello took the loss and threw 98 pitches over 5 1/3 innings. He allowed four earned runs on seven hits and a walk while whiffing seven before handing the ball to Will Kramer for the final 1 2/3 innings. Four of the five outs Kramer recorded came via the strikeout.

Matt Fahey went 4-for-4 and collected his four RBI on the game with a two-out grand slam in a five-run Rumson second inning that contributed to a Bulldogs win over the Lancers, sweeping the season series.
Liam Adams picked up the win with 4 1/3 innings of work and Gordon Forsythe came on with a runner on second and none out in the top of the seventh and nailed down the save without allowing the run to score.
Drew Cary came off the bench to hit to doubles and drive in five runs for St. John Vianney, while Logan Marter was 1-for-2 with a double, three runs scored and an RBI.
Matawan 5, Holmdel 4
Matawan scored the winning run when Jake Burlew was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth and John Carelli closed it out on the mound in the seventh to give the Huskies (9-3, 7-1) a win over the Hornets (4-7, 4-4) and keep them a half-game ahead of Raritan in the A Central race.
The Huskies pulled out the win after giving up a 4-0 lead, which they established with a four-run second inning. Antonio Martinez highlighted the rally with an RBI single.
Jackson Hercek picked up the win on the mound.
Raritan 3, Red Bank 0
Matt Birdsall pitched a two-hit shutout to improve to 4-0 and the Rockets (10-2, 6-1) topped the Bucs (4-7, 2-6) to keep pace with Matawan in the A Central race. Birdsall struck out nine, did not walk a batter and needed only 80 pitches to complete the game.
Dan VanMeerbeke went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI while Alex Lamattina was 1-for-3 with the other Raritan RBI. Jake Tennant was 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored and Tyler Bruno finished 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
Jack Povey took the hard-luck loss for Red Bank, allowing three earned runs on nine hits while walking none and striking out nine on 99 pitches.

Tom Pellone hit a game-tying two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning, but the Golden Eagles bounced back with five runs in the top of the eighth to down the Jaguars.
Mike Bickford and Ryan Galati picked up RBI singles in the eighth inning after Vance Pellino and Ryan Greene started the rally with singles to open the frame.
Southern 4, Brick Memorial 0
Senior left-hander Zach Fillmore struck out 11 in a four-hit shutout and the Rams (4-4, 3-4) blanked the Mustangs (3-8, 1-6). Fillmore walked two and just did complete the game before exceeding the pitch limit, finishing with 111 pitches.
Marcos Matias was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI and Garret Lange went 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Pat Barrett also added an RBI single in a 1-for-4 day at the plate.
Trevor Sherman allowed one earned run on five hits and two walks over six innings and struck out seven in taking the loss. He tossed 108 pitches before departing.
Mike Sullivan went 2-for-3 with a double to lead the Brick Memorial offense.

Garrett French pitched a four-hit shutout with eight strikeouts and the Lions (8-4, 6-3) knocked off the Crimson Knights (9-3, 6-3) for their sixth straight win. French allowed one earned run, walked five and barely finished the complete game before exceeding the maximum number of pitches. He reached his final batter under the 110-pitch threshold and finished with 113.
Jake Dillon, Jason Timmons and Nick Donato all went 2-for-4, with Dillon doubling and Donato scoring a run. Tyler Ras was also 1-for-4 with an RBI.
Matt Yard took the loss by allowing one run in each of the three innings he pitched, although only one was earned. Tanner Powers backed him up with three innings of scoreless relief that included four strikeouts without a walk.
Middletown South 2, Ocean 1
John Martin doubled in a run and scored on a Joe Sprake RBI single in the bottom of the first and that was enough for starter Jack Lisowski as the Eagles (7-5, 4-5) edged the Spartans (4-8, 2-7).
Lisowski allowed one run on three hits and four walks in five innings of work while striking out two and throwing 95 pitches. Jack Roesch worked two clean innings and struck out two to save it.
Sprake finished the game 2-for-3, as did Robby Zega, who also doubled and scored the first run for Middletown South.
Mark Butler threw the first two innings for Ocean and took the loss.

Christian Smith threw five innings and three-hit ball and Justin Young and Cody Young combined for five RBI to lead the offense as the Red Raiders (3-7, 3-4) rolled through the Garnet Gulls (5-5, 5-3).
Smith allowed one unearned run on three hits and a walk while striking out five and throwing 78 pitches to pick up the win. Colin Fernandez pitched two scoreless innings to earn the save.
Justin Young was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI and Cody Young went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI. Roan Maxwell was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBI while Jackson Aumack went 3-for-5 with a run scored in Keyport's 13-hit attack.
Kevin Donnelly and Jude Lovegren each went 1-for-3 with a double for Point Beach.
