Andrea Dalatri ripped RBI singles in the fourth and fifth innings and Nick Hohenstein beat the Colonials for the third time this year to help the Colts advance to the SCT quarterfinals. Matt Fitzsimmons opened the scoring with a solo home run in the thid inning, while Hohenstein helped his cause with an RBI triple in the fifth.

CBA will travel to play No. 3 Wall in Wednesday's quarterfinal round.

 

 

(24) Pinelands 4, (8) St. Rose 3

Sophomore Noah Dean pitched a complete game and Tommy Madge led the offense by going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI as the Wildcats (12-10) pulled off another SCT upset - this time taking down the Purple Roses (21-3).

Joey Ventresca also went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI for Pinelands, which will travel to top-seeded Toms River South in Wednesday's quarterfinal round.

Matt Fitzpatrick lifted a go-ahead sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth and Ben Montenegro put the game-away with a two-out, two-run double down the right-field line as the Indians pulled out a back-and-forth affair against a Lions team that defeated them eight days earlier.

Jackson Liberty tied the game with three runs in the top of the sixth after falling behind, 8-3. David Melfi highlighted the inning with a game-tying two-run single to centerfield after Shane Hickey drew a base-loaded walk.

Toms River South broke a 3-3 tie with five runs in the fourth inning, with Fitzpatrick notching a two-run single and starting pitcher T.J. Scuderi, Colin Mackle and Dylan Danelson all singling in a run.

Jared Bellissimo and Dylan Feigin combined on three RBI and Brendan Mullins went the distance to lead the Mariners past the Lions and into the SCT quarterfinals Wednesday against No. 18 Freehold Township.

Bellissimo knocked in two runs with sacrifice flies in the first and fifth innings, while Feigin singled in a run on the second and scored on Bellissimo's sac fly in the fifth.

Mike Mercier pulled Middletown North within a run with a two-run double off Mullins in the sixth. The Lions put the potential tying run on in the sixth, but Toms River North catcher Justin Schaff threw out Connor Welsh on an attempted steal of second base for the final out of the game.
